Twinetail enjoyed the feeling of Silktail sitting next to him. He'd barely registered what she'd said, so happy was he to be sitting with her like this again, but when he realised what she'd said, he was overjoyed. Leopardheart had given up on her; he wasn't Leopardheart's rival anymore and he didn't have to ignore him. Leopardheart was quite a nice cat, and they could be friends now, probably.
Then the leaders started to speak; well actually, they'd tried to, then Icepelt had started an arguement with that cat, Rivertail, who was in love with Featherdance. It was over Nightpaw and Mistpaw. Personally, he thought that the young couple should just be left to decide for themselves, and that no one, unless they were a leader, should question their decision.

Featherdance smiled shyly at Robinclaw. "Yeah..." she mewed and looked at Robinclaws mate beside him, Troubleheart. "How are you Troubleheart?" she asked.

Rivertail's fur prickled slightly, but he remained calm. "Thank you, Silverstar. I appreciate what you're doing, and I'm sure Nightpaw and Mistpaw will too." He stood, and dipped his head slightly, "Nightpaw will arrive around dawn tomorrow."
Rivertail lifted a paw to take a step and added, "Oh, and be gentle, with him. He might be..... Sad."
Icefur sharply meowed, "Don't tell us how to take care of our clan-mates." Her eyes flashed, and she stared at Rivertail, until she felt Thunderpelt brush his tail against her side, and murmur, "Calm down, Icefur. He's just trying to help." Icefur replied with a shrug, and continued watching Rivertail.
Rivertail turned his gaze on Icefur for a moment, then looked back up at Silverstar and nodded to the Thunderclan leader once more, before walking toward the edge of the clearing. After a few moments, he disappeared into the trees.
Icefur sighed, "He thinks he's so....."
Thunderpelt purred, "Icefur, he wasn't doing anything wrong. Riverclan was kind enough to take of Nightpaw until he could come back to Thunderclan. And it seems like their going to let Mistpaw and her kits stay."
Icefur slightly rolled her eyes, "That doesn't mean he has the right to act like he's the leader of Riverclan, and Thunderclan!" She curled her tail around her legs, and swallowed.
Thunderpelt flicked his ears forward, "You're probably just... Upset because Nightpaw was your apprentice. But everything is going to work out, and Rivertail was just trying to help. So take it easy." When she didn't answer, and just continued staring straight, he laid his tail on her paw, "Icefur? Are you alright?"
In a shaky voice she replied, "I'm fine. Just stop talking about this, you're right. Everything will be okay. And... Nightpaw will be back in Thunderclan." The smallest hint of sadness was hidden her eyes as she spoke, then looked at the ground.
Thunderpelt blinked, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say-"
Icefur shook her head, "Thunderpelt, stop. It's okay, I'm not angry with you." She took a breath, and seemed to collect herself, "I'm fine. Really." She smiled faintly, but it looked forced. Although it seemed to quiet Thunderpelt.

Featherdance left Robinclaw and walked over to Icefur and Thunderpelt and sat next to Icefur. "Hi!" she mewed to both of them. Out of the conor of her eye, she looked sadly at the spot that Rivertail had dissappeared.

Thunderpelt nodded to Featherdance. But Icefur did nothing. After another moment, he flicked his tail against her side, and purred.
Icefur flinched away from Thunderpelt, and mewed to Featherdance, "Hi."
Thunderpelt rolled his eyes, and nodded toward the edge of the clearing, "Excuse us Featherdance, Icefur, come here." She silently followed him to a spot hidden among the trees. Once they were alone, Thunderpelt murmured, "Will you please tell me what's going on?"
Icefur shrugged, "Nothing. It doesn't matter." She looked into his eyes, and knew that he wasn't going to give that easily.
Thunderpelt playfully rubbed his tail along Icefur's leg, "I've known you too long to know it's not nothing." As her gaze flickered toward the ground, he leaned forward and tilted his head to look up into her eyes, "Please?"
Annoyed, she pulled her head away from his, "It's nothing! I was just thinking about Nightpaw! There, are you happy?"
Thunderpelt sighed, "Oh. I'm sorry, I know that you're kind of upset."
Icefur let out a sharp breath, "I don't need your sympathy, Thunderpelt. There's nothing to feel bad about, so let it go." She swallowed, and looked away from him.
He moved closer to her, and curled himself around her body, "I'm sorry. I mean, sorry for saying anything." He laid his head against hers, and purred.
Instantly, Icefur jumped away from Thunderpelt, who gave a startled gasp at her quick movement. Icefur's fur was standing, "What was that! Another moment and I would have found myself in the nursery in a few moons!" Her eyes flashed with confusion, and anger.
Thunderpelt's tail waved back and fourth, "Oh, Icefur. I'm.... I didn't mean to.... To... Do that...." He looked at his paws, and shook his head.
Icefur twitched her whiskers, "Is there something you'd like to explain to me?"
He smiled, and looked up at Icefur, "It's not that complicated. You should have realized it by now, anyway." He paused, and looked tenderly into Icefur's eyes, "I..... I really like you, Icefur. Ever since we've been apprentices. But... You've always said you wanted to lead Thunderclan, so I knew you wouldn't want kits... And I respected that." He took a breath, "As we got older, I guess I thought things would be different. Maybe.... You would want, different things."
Icefur's mouth dropped, and although what Thunderpelt had said was very sweet, she was still upset. "No! I don't want different things now! My goals are still the same, I want to be Thunderclan's leader, and I can't do that if I'm laying around in the nursery with kits!" She panted for a moment, then added, "And you should have came and talked to me before.... Before you pulled that little move! Why did you do that?"
Thunderpelt's gaze softened, and he murmured, "I realize now, that you would never give up that easy, Icefur. And I apologize for assuming that you would have changed your mind. I won't bother you with this stuff anymore." He stood, and added, "But I'll always be here for you. Just know that." He nodded, and started to walk away.
Icefur sighed, and stepped in front of Thunderpelt, "I know, that you'll always be there. And so, I'm going to promise you this. Next time a new deputy is picked, if it's not me, then... I promise you, I'll be your mate. Gladly. We can have kits and.... Maybe one of them, will lead Thunderclan some day." She brushed her tail against Thunderpelt's side, then turned and trotted back into the clearing, to sit next to Featherdance.
Thunderpelt slowly padded back into the clearing. I'll remember that promise, Icefur. I will. And I'll always love you, no matter what you do, or where you go. He sat a few tail lengths away from her, and kept his eyes straight ahead of him.

Featherdance nooded at Icefur and Thunderpelt as they left. She saw the hints of caring and love within Thunderpelts eyes. She smiled to her self and remembered what Darkmask and Morningblaze had been like. Deep down she wished Rivertail and her were like that. Yet it seemed that Rivertail only liked her beauty. Was it wrong for a tom to only like her beauty? she asked herself. She was debating on weather to go to sunning rocks to meet Rivertail or not. She remembered that she was shoting for Deputy and if she had kits, she would have to give it up to take care of her kits. Featherdance had never wanted kits, yet... She shook that thought away and mewed greeting's to a few cats that walked by her. She frowned even more, and decided that she would go to Sunning Rocks and just talk to Rivertail and see what she ment to him. She didn't no weather she liked him for himself or for his handsomeness.
