Loudtalon couldn't help his self from looking back at his old home. He had a new life, one that didn't have a meaning. Was this what StarClan meant by him dying because his heart was dead.
"I miss you Dawnsong... They had to find out sooner or later. I just wish that she understand why I named her Dawnkit, only after you Dawnsong. I want to be with you but, I still down here with no stars in my fur. I will die at the right time. Then I'll be with you." He yelling not caring if anyone heard him.

Dawnlight stared at the little kit. "Stop, Kquton!" she called after him. She turned to Lightstar and sighed. "Kquton is a kit, Lightstar. The warrior code says that you have to take care of lost kits and welcome them." she reminded him, even though he knew the warrior code by heart. All cats did.. She smiled up at him winked. "She whispered into his ear, so only he could here. "I think he should join Riverclan, we need all the help we can get when the Deadplains are growing stronger and stronger every day. Of course, it's your choice?" she giggled and winked at him abain. She hadn't had this much fun since she was an apprentice. All her troubles were getting father and father away.

Kquton turned his small head around, wha? He ran back to Dawnlight what did he just call him?
"What did you just call me? A kit well 'bout another moon I'll be let me see...one...two...three...four...five...six... Yup, six moons next moon and by then I'll be in the mountains." He said looking at Dawnlight. He could only heard part of what she said.
"Join! Join!...What do you mean by join, aren't you all rouges?" He asked sitting down tilting he's head to a side.

Closing his eyes, the leader thought it over. He felt quite irriate at the leisurely way that cat was referring to him, but had at first ignored it. Dawnlight's words were senseful, and in the prick of his ear he caught a cry from Loudtalon. That warrior was just being a fool now... finally, Lightstar nodded in agreement.
He was about to speak when Kquton, as the kit seemed to be called, referred to them as rogues. "We're not so lowly as those lawless crow-food eating cats. We're a Clan, we follow the laws of our ancestors and believe in their ways, specifically our Clan is RiverClan. We thrive on the river, and I'm the leader, Lightstar." His tail flicked, and golden gaze burned into the young cat, before adding, "If you have any wish to become a part of us, you'll have to follow our ways. Do I make myself clear?"
Finally, his thoughts driften to the ThunderClan apprentice who had wanted a part of their life. She was just a doubting young cat, and in the end couldn't make a commitment to RiverClan. That, of course, was why he had made her think it over instead of allowing another betrayal. |

Kquton closed his eyes like Lightstar did, he opened them and thought. Follow their ways but what ways? Rubbing his paws together he remembered his father yelling as he was kill by ThunderClan. This must be another one. He gave a shiver, he could see his father lying on the ground, Kquton was so little. His father had the same gray eyes. They were open; Kquton let that thought float away. He looked up at Lightstar. He couldn't met his golden eyes. He liked being alone but here he would have cats to be by him and not alone. His family before him all came from rouges, their name all ended in "ton" His mother thought he was so cute so Kquton was his name. He didn't know, he looked at Dawnlight, he wanted to see what was in her eyes before he would say what he had to.

Dawnlight looked at Kquton and smiled. "Kquton, follow your heart and choose your destiny." she mewed and looked at the kit. If he joined Riverclan, Owlkit would be a great name. He had known what herbs to use for Mousekit. Was he my apprentice to be? She wondered and winked at Kquton.

Kquton looked at Dawnlight, he didn't like all these cats looking at him. He couldn't feel were his heart was taking him. He couldn't even hear what his mind had to say. My destiny was to do what? He gave a smile, it could be fun doing something new. Not all the cats could be as strict as Lightstar, he would make the best of it! He gave a purr and jumped up like a rabbit he turned to Lightstar, his tail going side to side. At once he yelped at Lightstar.
"I'll do it! Thanks Dawnlight! And you to Lightstar!" He sad while he ran a circle around Dawnlight.
"Hey Dawnlight! Can you teach me how to make cats feel better? I have a sore throat and I need some honey!" Said slowing down.
"Do I get a cool name like yours? Because I think Dawnlight is a cool name!" He said, he loved having fun.

Dawnlight Laughed. "You have to learn our noble code first. If you want to be my apprentice, you have to wait one more moon, Kquton." She then turned to Lightstar and look hopefully at him. "Lightstar, I think mite of found found my apprentice. Your going to have to change his name." she said at last, looking deep into Lightstars eyes for a clue to what he was going to say next.
((I'll think about Kquton being my apprentice in the next moon. Okay))

"What is an apprentice? Oh oh! Now I remember now. I have to change my name? What will it be like um...Brownfoot, Oakleg, er...Like that? Dawnlight can you teach me how to swim? That would be fun in the sun!" He giggled.

Their energy was beginning to amuse the tom; "You'll learn how to swim and all the rules when you're an apprentice. That's the way it works. Your name with start out as a 'kit, and a 'paw as an apprentice, and you will have your warrior name, or in this case Medicine Cat name, when you've finished your training." Surprisingly, this kit would be a perfect addition, he had a love of water and a slight skill of herbs. His doubt was starting to fade at this point, and Lightstar thought over what the kit should be called. "Dawnlight, I'll leave him under your care. I'll expect you to watch over him before he becomes an apprentice as well. Other than that, Kquton is it, I will allow you to choose his name, and I shall announce it tonight." |

"Thank you Lightstar. I'll take care of him, Promise." she flicked the tip of her tail on Lightstars flank. She smiled. What would the name be? "Okay, Kquton. Let me have a look at you." she commanded and started to look at the kit. A brown Tabby? Brownkit, Darkkit, Lightkit, No. His pelt reminded her of an Owls. She giggled. Looking at Lightstar, then Kquton. "It hasn't took long to see what he looks like." she joked and Turned to Kquton. "Because of your pelt, Owlkit is your new name, until you get you clan name." she proudly mewed and flicked the top of his ear. "Like it?" she asked.

"Awesome! When do I become an apprentice? I want to learn how to swim and...and everything!" He said now bouncing up and down. His eyes shown with happiness, he yelped. Owlkit was a cool name, what would his warrior name be? Um, Owllight, Owltail, Owlsomething ya Owlsomething for now. He gave a purr, he thought that Dawnlight was the Cooley-est! And Lightstar was fun, ya just have to know were to see it.
"Dawnlight what does he mean by Medicine cat? What do they do?" He asked stopping in a running position.

While the two cats were talking, the tom worldlessly slipped out in order to search for his deputy. She would be next to hear the news, of course, and he had needed to speak to her about patrols anyway. The sky shone warmly, and Lightstar believed for a few heartbeats that StarClan was burning brightly for RiverClan. He flattened his ears and purred softly, he shouldn't be so selfish, but it seemed that the rain had cleared quickly. As if it was there only to test K... to test Owlkit. He had to agree with Dawnpaw, he did have a very owl-like appearence. If the young tom became as wise as he looked, then RiverClan would have a good future. |

"Lightstar? Aren't you gonna tell me about the warrior code? " He asked running over to the white tom, his gray eyes were huge. He couldn't get the image of him catching a fish out of his head.

Dawnlight caught Lightstar slip out of the den and dashed over to him following Owlkit. She sighed and the turned to Owlkit. She told him about the Warrior Code. She explained to him every rule and told him about Starclan. "A Medicine cat heals clan mates from sickness and injuries. They go to the moonstone to share toughs with Starclan every half moon. They have a speacill connection with Starclan. Starclan send them dreams to protect their clan and others. Medicine cats..." Dawnlight froze feeling a pain so overwhelming she felt like she was going to puke.
Her eyes went black. An Image over took the darkness. A she-cat was walking to her, they shared the same pelt, but different eyes. HRe eyes were clouded with fear and sadness. "Dawnlight, I am your Mother. Dawnsong." she mewed happily, her eyes were clouded with sadness.
"Mother! Loudtalon was not lying!" Dawnlight felt sad to for claiming she didn't believe him.
"I love you, but their is no time to spare." she sounded different from what was true in her words. "Light will fall from the sky and blood will cover the moon." she repeated the prophecy. She touched her muzzle to the top of her head.
Pain shot through Dawnlight, she tired to yowl but it was so overwhelming she closed her jaws. Images of cats fightning, cats dead,....Then all of it was gone.
"Dawnlight, pain will reach the clans." she whispered and disappeared.
Dawnlight opened her eyes, her pelt was wet. Her face was damp. She remembered the pain her mother had shown her. It was the pain of the clans. Death is coming and it is only the start.
She looked at Lightstar. Breathing hard, she caught her breath and began to speck. "Lightstar..." she whispered. "I must talk to you...." she said and started to cry. The pain of unbearable death, she felt the pains of the clans.. She waited for Lightstar.

Owlkit made a squeak, Dawnlight was in pain!
"Poppy seeds!" He yelled running into the medicine cat den and grabbing three poppy seeds. He ran back to Dawnlight giving them to her.
"Eat! Eat! Um...yum yum." He said putting them to her mouth.

"It;s okay Owlkit. I feel better." she smiled at the kit weekly. She turned to lightstar. Wobbly on her paws she sat down. The day dream had taken a lot out of her.
