Jewl yawned, as the sunlight filtered through the leaves of the bush, her four kits were still sleeping, curled up against her stomach. She carefully stood, and stretched, the branches of the bush scraped along her spine, but she was used to it by now. Jewl poked her head outside of the bush, and saw a bowl of food sitting in the yard, they always left a bowl out overnight. They still care about me........ She glanced at her kits, But, I can't leave my kits, it's too much of a risk. I don't know what will happen to them. I'm just going to have to stay in the bush with them for awhile longer, I guess.
Jewl slid out from the bush, and crawled quickly across the yard, the scent of the food from the bowl made her mouth water. As she approached it, a twoleg suddenly ran out from her nest, screaming. Jewl bolted for the bush, and her fur began to bristle. The twoleg jumped in front of her, and caught her in his arms, Jewl meowed, and struggled to get free, but it was no use.
Suddenly, a loud mew came from the bush, Jewl sighed, Please stay quiet my kits, please. Her twoleg turned around, and faced the bush, Jewl wriggled, and managed to slip out of her twoleg's strong grip. She dashed in front of the bush, and crouched, facing the twoleg. Another mew came from the bush, and she quickly crawled into it, and stood over her kits. The leaves and branches above her parted, and her twoleg looked into the bush, where Jewl laid protectively over her kits.
The twoleg's got wide, and he reached into the bush, and laid his huge paw softly on Jewl, memories of being caressed in the warm, cozy hold of her twoleg flooded back, and she forgot about her kits, for a moment. But when her twoleg stretched his arm toward Gloria, Jewl meowed, and pulled her kits further into the bush, her twoleg made a sound, and crouched in front of the bush, Jewl faced him, and batted away his paws, every time he reached for a kit. Suddenly, he took hold of Jewl, and pulled her out of the bush, he shoved her behind him, and reached back into the bush, and then, he laid Gloria, softly next the her. Jewl yowled, and tried to run into the bush, but her twoleg pushed her behind him again, and reached in, and then laid Gem next to Gloria.

Forest watched what happened to the she-cat and her kits. "Filthy twoleg! Get your big fat paws off those kits!" She yowled, leaping from the fence she was on, and onto his back. The twoleg yowled back at her, and fell back in surprise. "Grab your kits fool!" Forest yowled towards Jewl. []b"Before this great lumbering fool squishes them!" She yelped loudly as the twoleg managed to grab her by the scruff. He growled, and threw her against the fence. She landed with a thud on the floor, her body limp. "Oh no you din't." She said, struggling to stand. Her eyes flashed angrily, and she launched herself at him, claws flailing.
A little black kitten stood a little way away from the chaos. She tilted her head, orange eyes curious. She watched the twoleg stumble, almost standing on the kits. "Uh-oh." She said, leaping from the fence. She nudged Jewl as Forest fought. "Come on. Grab a kit before they get stood on." Puddle said, lifting the kit. She was a bit bigger than the kit, but had the strength. She heard mewling from the bush, and waddled over to it, Gem hanging between her legs and mewling in that way kits did. She placed Gem beside her siblings, and looked baack. Forest had just got slammed against the wall. Her burnt orange eyes widened in horror as she fell limp, but then she stood. She let out a sigh. "Phew!"

Jewl gasped in horror as her twoleg fought with the cat, but she shook her head, and dove back into the bush, she picked up Mohawk and Echo by their scruffs, and pulled them outside, and then laid them by Gem and Gloria. She glanced at the other cat, who was almost as small as her kits, "We have to get them away from here! If my twolegs get them, I'm not sure what they will do with them!" Her fur stood straight, and her eyes were wide.
Her twoleg turned, and jumped for the kits again, now ignoring Jewl, she lunged in front of them, and yowled, her tail swaying from side to side. Her twoleg reached for her, but she batted his huge paw away, and crouched over her mewing kits. Jewl meowed to the other cats, "Help!" She continued to try and keep the twoleg away from her kits.

After his scuffle with the ThunderClan cats, or rather, cat, considering he really only fought one, Synkah had made his way back to Twolegplace. He had rested for a while, cleaned his wounds as best as he could, rested some more.
Yowling dragged him out of his slumber and, grumpily, Synkah hauled himself to his paws and followed the sound.
It wasn't like him to go out during the day. There was far too much twoleg activity for his liking. Too many monsters. Plus, night was a time of shadows. Syn, being a tiny black cat, was a perfect shadow in the night.
He climbed up onto a fence, yellow-green eyes round with curiosity. Looking down, he saw what the commotion was about. A queen was wailing for help.
Synkah rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't worry too much," he said calmly. "You picked a bad place for them." He pointed out bluntly, but making no move to jump down from his perch.

Jewl glanced at the cat perched upon the fence, and yowled, "Please! Help!" Her fur prickled as her twoleg jumped at her again, with it's paws outstretched. She unsheathed her claws, and slashed quickly, her twoleg cried out in pain, and stepped back. Jewl look desperately at the cat on the fence again, her eyes wide, and pleading. "Please, just save my kits! I can't carry them all at once!" She nosed at the kits, trying to push them backward. Her twoleg picked up a long stick from the ground, and started to advance again.
Jewl gasped, and crouched, with her ears flat against her head. The twoleg lashed the stick at her. She ducked, and moved closer to her kits. She jumped away as the stick flashed in front of her again. Jewl looked at the cat perched on the fence, a terrified, and desperate gleam in her eyes, "Please!"

Synkah stared down at the queen with no sympathy. She was wailing for his help as the twoleg advanced upon her again and again.
Stupid twoleg. This was why he was always active at night.
"I really have better things to do..." Syn said in a mild tone. With all of the commotion, he wondered if the queen would even hear his comment.
"What makes you think I can help you with your kits?" Syn asked her. He was, after all, only one cat, and a very small one at that. Even if he decided to help her, he could carry only one kit, himself.
But, he had no motivation to really help her. They weren't his kits, why should he care? He was loyal to no one but himself. However, Syn's track record had quite a few cases where he did help other cats out of sticky situations. They usually found themselves worse off afterward, but that was to be expected. Any cat that had been on the street long enough knew Syn's reputation. You didn't ask him for help. He liked to watch other cats' misery, especially unknowing kittypets, it made his day.
Without waiting for the queen to yowl for help again, or even answer him, Syn jumped down from his perch on the fence and into the bushes. He kept his eyes on the twoleg, and kept his body close to the ground.
He grabbed a kit by the scruff and, with a grunt, leapt back up onto the fence, nearly losing his balance as he did so. He waved his tail back and forth as he tried to regain his balance with the dead-weight kit dangling from his jaws.
He slowly eased his front paws down the fence before jumping the rest of the way. Synkah grimaced as he set the tiny scrap down.

Jewl meowed after the cat, "Thank you! Can you please get the rest while-" The twoleg slashed the stick again, Jewl quickly ducked, but she felt something rough rub across her back. She looked up at the twoleg, and saw it glance at the kits, when it saw there were three, it made an angry sound. Jewl rushed forward, and jumped. The twoleg looked at her and raised the stick, Jewl yowled. She tried maneuver in the air, but a moment later the stick made impact with her flank.
She crashed into the twoleg, and looked up at it, a hint of sympathy glowed in it's eyes. Jewl forced herself to her paws, and cringed as her back leg throbbed. The twoleg stepped between her, and her kits. She looked around for the other cat, and mewed, "Please, save my kits..." Jewl padded up to the twoleg, and flopped herself onto the ground at it's feet. A few moments went by, then the twoleg bent and picked her up. She flinched, and as she started moving, the twoleg laid it's paw on her back, and started to carry her toward the nest. Jewl quickly looked behind her, and meowed, "My kits...."

Synkah stared at the kit as it opened it's mouth in a mewl of protest. He rolled his eyes and jumped back onto the fence. He hadn't heard the queen thank him, but as he looked down, he watched as the twoleg struck her with a stick.
Syn despised twolegs. The didn't make sense and they were cruel. He didn't want to get in the middle of it, though. Really, it wasn't worth getting his own bones crushed over some strange queen and her kits.
What was she doing? Nothing? She didn't even try to scratch the twoleg to make it let her go. He sat, hunched on the fence, watching as the queen begged him to save her kits.
"Why should I help your kits when you do nothing to help them?" Syn asked, although he spoke quietly to himself. "Stupid kittypet."
As the twoleg carried the queen to its nest, Synkah remained on the fence. He could hear the kit he had separated from the rest of the litter meowing pitifully and he groaned inwardly. He slithered down the fence and looked down at the other three kits.
He couldn't take care of them. He wasn't a nursing queen, and he didn't know any either. Even if he did, he wouldn't go out of his way to ask them for help. These kits were nothing to him.
Suddenly Synkah decided to do something drastic. Something not entirely out of character, but something that went against all of his instincts. The twoleg had not yet reached its nest. Narrowing his eyes, Syn raced out from the cover of the bushes and yowled loudly.
"Fight! Fight, you foolish queen! Save your own kits!"
Syn dashed in front of the twoleg, using his small size and agility to his advantage. He wasn't worried about being caught, or attacked. Twolegs far too slow to catch him. What he really wanted was for this thistle-brained queen to scratch her twoleg captor and jump down.
"Scratch it!" He ordered. "Or I won't help your or your kits!"
For however cruel his words were, they were true. If she didn't fight, and she chose to just give in, then he would leave her kits there. The three on one side of the fence, and the other separated from them. He wouldn't feel any remorse. He never did.

Jewl gasped, "But, he's taking me in, now is your chance to get the kits!" Her mind whirled for a few moments, the frightened, mews of her kits seemed to echo. Finally something snapped in her mind, an instinct, that told her this was no time to act, and hope that this strange cat somehow helped her kits.
She yowled, and twisted in the grasp of the twoleg, it made a sound, and grasped her tighter. She took in a raspy breath, and unsheathed her claws. Then, she jerked again, trying to loosen herself from the hard, uncomfortable hold of the twoleg. When it only switched her into a worse position, she sighed, and pushed her claws into it. Something she had never done before, this twoleg had always been so nice, and kind, and gave her food. But now, it was trying to take her kits. And that, she would not allow.
Jewl stretched her claws past it's twoleg pelt, and suddenly something harshly squeezed her, and the twoleg cried out in pain. She flattened her ears against her head, and she closed her eyes.
A moment later, the twoleg released her, and she slammed to the ground. Groaning, she pushed herself to her feet, and shook herself. Once her mind cleared of what had just happened, she crouched, and stared at the twoleg, who was also staring at her.
She waved her tail back a forth, with her ears still flat. Nothing, not even a twoleg who had treated me so kindly before, will hurt my kits. Or get between me and them.
The twoleg seemed to sighed, then murmured something, and walked toward her again. A faint growl rumbled in her throat, but she let it reach it's paws around her neck, and unclasp her collar. Jewl meowed, and a sad gleam flashed in her eyes. The twoleg looked at it for awhile, and played with the tags on it, then shook it's head, and re-clipped it, but said, "Go."
Jewl looked at it for a moment, knowing that she had finally earned her freedom. She stood from her crouch, and let the twoleg stroke her once more, then watched with her ears pricked as it walked inside it's nest.
A mew floated into her thoughts, and she jumped. Her fur pricked, and she turned, and lunged toward her kits. She approached them, and licked three of them, her heart skipped a beat, when she remembered that the other cat had saved one.
She turned again, and laid her eyes on the cat, "Thank you, for helping me and my kits. Who, are almost everything to me. How can I repay you?" Her eyes sparkled, and she smiled.

Syn stood in the lawn, eyes narrowed as he watched the queen suddenly decide to fight. Yes. Fight for your freedom! Fight! It occurred to him that the queen might not be able to escape the twoleg, but after the struggle became more vicious, the twoleg released her.
The tiny black cat dashed back to the cover of bushes where the kits mewed pitifully for their mother. Syn ignored them as he watched the twoleg reach down toward the kittypet queen.
"No. What are you doing? Run." Syn hissed, although it was barely audible. There was no way that the queen could have heard him.
He almost was ready to curse the queen and leave, but then, the most extraordinary thing happened. The twoleg removed her kittypet collar. Synkah's jaw dropped and his eyes grew round with shock.
When the queen raced back to the cover of the bushes, Synkah had composed himself and sat down. He stared at her through half-closed eyes as she licked her three kits. The other one could be heard on the other side of the fence.
As she thanked him, he dipped his head and gave his chest fur a couple of quick licks before twitching his whiskers. "You don't need to repay me," he meowed in his little voice. "I just want some peace and quiet."
Syn stood up and arched his back in a stretch. "So, do you want to keep them here or shall I help you move them?"
He wasn't really prepared to help this queen, but she didn't seem like she knew anything about anything. She'd probably end up starving, but that wasn't Syn's problem. He walked over to the other three kits and stood over them.
Weighing only five pounds, Synkah didn't look like more than a kit himself. His puny size was his greatest weakness, but he made up for it in smarts.

Jewl glanced at the three kits, squirming, and mewing. She flicked her ears in a circle, and murmured, "I.... I don't have anywhere to go.." She sighed, and looked at her paws. Her stomach felt empty, and her throat was dry. She hadn't been eating or drinking very much, since she'd been hiding out in the bush with her kits. And she knew that they were probably just as hungry and as thirsty as she was. But, she couldn't really do anything about it, until she's had some good food, and a long drink herself.
Jewl kneaded her paws on the ground, "I guess, I'd like some help getting them over the fence. And.... And I was also wondering if.... Maybe you knew of somewhere I could go?" Her eyes glimmered still, but with an afraid gleam in them. "You know, where, I could find food? And water? And... A place to stay with my kits?"
She waved her tail, and leaned to lick her kits again as they start to mew more loudly. And the other could be heard on the other side of the fence. Her fur stood straight, and she yowled, "My kit!"
Jewl jumped up, and sprinted across the yard, her heart beating loudly in her chest. As she approached the fence, she bunched her muscles, and lunged off of the ground. She neared the top of the fence, and unsheathed her claws, to scrabble on top of it.
She gained her balance, and stood looking around in the leaves and bushes. Her eyes darted around, until she spotted the fur of Echo laying in a sunny patch of grass. She let out a breath, and meowed softly to the kit, "Wait there just a moment, love."
Jewl turned, and sprang off of the fence again. Her heart coming to a more relaxed pace, and her fur settled back onto her shoulders. She padded back up to the other cat, and sat next to her mewing kits again.

Oh, great, this one wont last long.
Syn had to force his fur to lie flat when the kittypet began to ask him for more help. This was why kittypets needed to stay kittypets. Of course she didn't know where to go. But of course, this was where Syn became the most devious.
"Of course you don't know where to go," his tiny voice was smooth and full of compassion that he did not feel. "This is all new to you-" he broke off as the kittypet ran off and jumped on top of the fence as she sought out her kit. Syn refrained from rolling his eyes.
He cleared his throat. "Food is not easy to find in twolegplace, but I can help you for a while until you're settled." Syn smiled, but behind his smile, in his mind, was a heartless plan to ruin her.
"Well, let's move your kits to the other side, then."
He reached down and grabbed one by the scruff and bounded up the side of the fence. He placed the kit beside the other one and then returned for one more so that the kittypet queen would only need to worry about getting one over.
As he hopped down on the other side of the fence with the last kit, he stretched. "Can they walk at all?" he asked her.

Jewl grabbed Gloria around the fur on her neck, and then jumped over the fence to follow the other cat. She carefully set her kit by the others, then meowed, "Um, I think they can walk for awhile. But... I'm not sure how far." Her eyes glazed over for a moment, although she was happy to be free, and her kits were safe... She was afraid to live in the wild, with so many new dangers, and it would be hard to find food.
A chilling breeze swept through the forest, and the kits began mewing as the cold air ruffled their soft fur. Jewl too, shivered as she leaned to rasp her tongue across their backs a few times. She swallowed, and looked around, everything seemed so open, and big.
The she-cat laid her tail around her kits, trying to position herself between them, and the cold wind. She crouched next to them, "Please, don't cry. This nice cat is going to find us somewhere warm to stay, and we'll have food soon too. Just be patient, we'll be fine."
Jewl looked at the other cat, her eyes showed that she was worried, "I'm sorry, their cold and hungry, and their young. I'm not sure they really understand what's going on." Her voice softened, "But they'll be better once we start moving, and find a place to settle. And again, thank you, for everything. Without you, I'm not sure where I, or my kits would be." She smiled, and her eyes flashed a glimmer of thanks. Then Jewl tilted her head, "I... I don't think I ever got your name..."

One more obstacle. Great. As if there weren't enough already. Syn inhaled deeply and released his breath as a long sigh. He looked down at the kits, but the graveness in his eyes masked the dark thoughts in his mind.
Yeah, sure they'll be better when they're out moving. I've seen how wobbly a kit is. He looked over at her as she continued talking. You'll never find a place to settle like you're thinking, kittypet. You should have let your twoleg keep you locked up safe and sound in his nest. Welcome to my world.
Syn's face contorted slightly as he smiled. Never got my... oh, right.
"Yeah, that's because there wasn't time for formal introductions," he looked off and twitched his tail before he looked back at her. "Anyways, I'm Synkah, or Syn." He didn't bother to ask her name, nor did he wait for her to give it to him.
"Listen, here's the deal," Synkah stood up and walked around the kits. "They won't last long out if it starts getting too cold. They won't walk far, and we won't make enough tracks by nightfall." He figured he'd tell it to her straight, there wasn't any need to sugarcoat it.
Synkah padded over and stood in front of the queen, looking up at her. "You're not going to be living in a twoleg nest. There won't be food there fo ya all the time, got it? And, uh, another thing," he looked around. "This forest," he looked out at it. "You're not gonna be livin' there either. Clan cats don't welcome kittypets, or loners. You're going to live like me. Do you see me?"
He backed up so that she could see that she could see his small frame better. He was lean, slight, and his black fur was sleek despite his sorry diet, but above all, there was no extra weight on him. He weighed five pounds, six on a good day. His right ear was torn and ragged from a fight, and he had fresh clumps of fur missing from a fight with a clan cat earlier that day.
"It's not easy. You will be hungry, and your kits might not all live," he spoke slowly and he stared at her hard. "I want to know right now if this is the life you want, or if you want the one that's behind this fence." He kept staring at her.
He wasn't an intimidating cat to look at, or to listen to. His voice was almost as tiny as his body, and how could anyone be intimidated by a cat that was half the size of an average cat. There would be bigger, meaner, blood-thirstier cats out on the streets of twoleg place, but she perhaps had asked help from the wrong cat already. Unless some cat outright told her that following Synkah into the depths of twolegplace was deranged because he liked to get kittypets lost and leave them, she would meet the fate of many others.

Jewl's eyes flashed, and glazed over. A distant look masked her face, and she sighed, as she swept her tail over her kits. "If I go back, I don't know if I would be able to stay with my kits. They might be taken away from me, and I have no clue where they would end up."
She finally blinked, and the glimmer returned to her eyes. "I'll stay out here. I have my kits, and the freedom to do what I want. Besides, it won't be much longer before they can start doing things for themselves." Echo let out a hungry wail, and she rasped her tongue across his head. a shiver went from his body to hers.
Jewl pulled her kits closer, "Their getting cold, and very hungry. We should start moving." She stood, and stretched. Her muscles were sore, and she was tired. All she wanted to do, was get some food for herself and her kits, and find a warm place to sleep. But as this cat had already stated, it wasn't going to be that easy.
Jewl bent, and began to nudge her kits, "Come on my loves. You have to walk, please." Gem yawned, then mewed softly, "But we're so tired, and hungry. And it's cold."
Jewl licked her neck, "Please, Gem. You have to walk, we need to find a place to sleep, that's warm. And tomorrow morning we can find some food." She waited until all of her kits had lifted themselves to their paws, and stood shivering. A serious look stood her in her eyes, "Now, we need to find a place to stay. They can't stand out here in the cold all night."

Synkah nodded. She made her choice. Fine. This would be fun. "I don't blame you. Twolegs think that they own everything," Syn growled. He licked his lips as the queen suggested that they start moving.
He looked up at the sky as the light began to fade. This was the time he usually just began to wake up. He wanted very badly to just go back to his tire and sleep, but he would deal with these five first.
"Alright, let's go," Syn stretched and then began to walk down along the line of fences. "Although, it's better to move by night around here. It's too dangerous by day. Night has its dangers, too, though. I've seen cats dazzled by the lights of a monster on the thunderpath. They didn't see the morning."
Syn peered around a corner and down an alley, scanning the area for dangers before he led them down it. "The trick is to listen, and not to cross thunderpaths at night unless absolutely necessary. Plus, looking before you run across is a good idea at any time of the day."
He looked over his shoulder to see how they were keeping up before he bounded ahead and began sniffing under a dumpster. He crawled underneath it and sniffed some more, checking for the scent of other cats who might possibly fight him for sleeping in their spot. He knew he'd shred anyone who set a paw on his tire.
"Alright, this looks like as good a place as any," he said as he backed out. "It doesn't smell like any cat, so we'll just have to make sure we leave early in case twolegs get here in the morning." He jumped up onto the ledge of the dumpster. "Go ahead and get them settled, then we can look for some food," he called over his shoulder.

Jewl peered under the stinky box, and flinched. It wasn't as pleasant, and warm as her old home, and didn't look very comfortable.
But, it blocked the wind, and it was shelter. She would just have to learn to adjust. She sighed, and used her tail to guide her kits under it. They crawled to the back, and flopped into a pile. Gloria yawned, "Can we go to sleep now?" Jewl sighed, "I think I'm going to go find some food for you." Mohawk pricked his ears, "You're leaving us alone?"
She licked his head, "I won't go very far, I promise." She purred, and nudged them closer together, and then she backed up from under the box and looked up at the cat. "Thank you, for your help. Um, do you think it'll be okay if I leave them for a little bit. To find food, I won't go very far..." She crouched, and looked at her kits, bundled together.
Jewl shook her head, "I can't leave them, it's not safe. I'll just find food in the morning, I'm tired anyway." She swallowed, and waved her tail in a circle, "Thank you, really. For everything."

Sally watched from the fence as a lean, tiny black tom lead a queen and her kits down her small ally. She decided to follow to make sure they hadn't found her special spot, where a large chunk of cement had been torn away, making a small cave. She followed them quietly, and looked around the corner. The black cat and the queen were talking near the rubbage bin. She realized they hadn't found her cave and she turned to leave, but she suddenly recognized she small black cat. She decided to follow them, to make sure the queen would be okay. She silently jumped into her small cave and settled down to watch.

"Yeah, you're welcome." Synkah rolled his eyes, but refused to let this kittypet queen give up so easily. She was way too soft to be out here, and Synkah wanted her to realize that.
"We're not going to go far. We're going right here to find food." Synkah flicked his tail at the garbage bin. "You can usually find good things in here." He looked down at her with a hard stare.
"You can't give in to being tired out here. I won't feed you, and no other cat will, either. Your kits will be fine for a heartbeat without you, or will you starve your kits as well as yourself because you are afraid to leave them?" Syn's usually level voice was rather harsh, but so was reality.
"Besides, we're moving again in the morning. This isn't a good place to stay permanently." Synkah had turned around and was balancing on the lip of the garbage bin. "Come on."
He turned and jumped onto a box and began sniffing and rooting around through the twoleg rubbish. Wrapped in a crinkly skin of sorts, Syn found a small piece of meat for himself, his earlier ThunderClan mouse was wearing off. At this point, he didn't care if the kittypet followed him. Let her starve here, it didn't matter to him. It wouldn't matter to him once he got her lost, either.
But Syn didn't know that a pair of eyes were watching him from the shadows of the alley, nor did he know that the cat that was watching them recognized him, and perhaps, his sinister ways.

Jewl sighed, and she murmured, "I know, that life out here won't be easy. I figured that out while I was hiding under a bush with my kits. I wasn't able to leave for food very much, and my kits didn't have filled bellies either."
She stood taller, and tried to match his gaze, "I don't need someone to tell me how hard it's going to be to find food, and survive." She flicked her tail, "And I don't want to hear about it over and over again, because my kits will grow up. And I will watch them."
Jewl blinked, and swallowed. She stared at the cat for another moment, then looked at her paws. "I'm sorry... I don't want to be rude, it's just that I've been through a lot..."
She shook herself, and peered under the box again, "Hold on, my dears. I'm going to find us something to eat." She looked up, and bunched her muscles. Then sprang up onto the box, and perched on the edge while she looked into it. A yucky stench floated from it, and a shiver went through her at the thought of eating something out of it.
But, despite the smell, she was hungry, and so were her kits. So, she began to paw through the stuff. A long piece of meat-like stuff wedged in something puffy was the first thing she found. She picked it up, and dropped it over the edge of the box. Then she started sniffing back through the stuff. Most of it didn't really seem edible. She turned over a box with her paw, and bit through it, a tender meaty smell came from inside. Jewl took the piece out meat out, and dropped it next to her other find.
She lunged from the box, and started licking the tender meat first, and found that it didn't taste that bad. She took a bite, and swallowed. Then another, and another.
Soon it was gone, and Jewl was content. She pushed the other stuff away with her paw, then looked back up at the cat, "That's enough for me, for the night. I'm going to feed my kits now." She sighed, "I suppose if you think it would be better to move, then we'll be ready in the morning. Again, thank you." Jewl crawled under the box, and rolled onto her side. Her kits happily mewed, and began to suckle.
