Silverstorm was worried. As alwys, but this time it was burning inside the pit of her stomach, making her want to sprint. But of course she couldn't confess the fears of herself in front of her clanmates.
"Do you guys want to run, it is pouring rain." she said truthfully. The rain was really coming down. And thunder was rebounding of her ears. She shivered and didn't know why.
Silverstorm burst into Sunningrocks wondering how Dovestar's patrol was going. She wondered why her leader wasn't back yet. Then she saw something horrifing. Something that lasted a split second but was enough to scare the mouse-dung out of her. What she saw in front of her was her leader on fire; struck by lightning. it must of been very powerful to have killed Dovestar. But then Silverstorm was relieved. Leader's thankfully had nine lives.
What she saw in front of her jolted her. In front of her was Dovestar. And she wasn't moving. Minutes past and Dovestar still wasn't coming alive. With a cold dread, Silverstorm realized what had happened. The lightning strike was too big of an injury for Starclan to heal. Dovestar, her beloved leader....was dead. Silverstorm couldn't believe it, she had only heard of a leader losing all their lives at once once ever. And even that was an Elder's tale. Now she believed it. And now she was afraid of it.
What struck her most though was the fact that realization dawned that she was leader now. Iceshadow and (insert whatever cats want to be on this patrol not more than two cats please!) needed to see this, she thought. "Come! Something dreadful has happened!" she shouted to the clouds.
