Aiko sighed as she walked through the open gap that led to the inside of her home. She had been living here for quite a while now. She soon felt the grass under her paws fade as she made it through the gap. Dropping her mouse in the corner, she sighed, not very hungry.
Her home was small, just a little square for about five cats to lay down in. For Aiko, this little piece of shelter was perfect. It was not far from the twoleg's home, in fact, it looked like it was on their territory. There was no need to worry though, the twolegs never seemed to use it and she was only there at night and short parts of the day. There was plenty of mice in the fields next to her, giving her an endless supply of prey, a perfect home for her. (It's an old outhouse that was used a long time ago with no toilet in it anymore.)
Laying down, Aiko started reflecting on her life. She never usually did, but being alone again made her think. She is indeed a loner, but she was a little bit too lonely. Living with twolegs was a boring life, nature was her life now, but being completely alone wasn't what she wanted her life to be like. Ever since she left her twolegs home, she longed for one or two companions. Maybe a mate, or a best friend.
Aiko laid her head down on her paws, a little depressed. Her eyes started to close, as the longing for a companion grew bigger.

Nemesis walked around looking for a Dead Plains cat. He had heard from another loner that they had attacked the Clan territories. The idiots. Even with their training they couldn't hope to take the Clan territories. But what did he care. All he wanted was Envy. To feel his neck crush between his razor sharp fangs.
But then what?, he thought. What would he do next? If all he lived for was revenge then what would he do if he took and finished it? He realized that he had nothing except Envy to live for. Envy's death would bring him satisfaction even joy, but then he would be nothing. Absolutely nothing.
But right now he was hungry. And starving himself to death was not high on his to-do list. He sniffed the air and immediately a pungent smell of cat and Twoleg came over him. Kittypet, he almost growled. He followed the scent to an abandoned run-down Twoleg box. Curiously he entered. The scent of cat was fresh. Bursting inside he exclaimed, "Who are you?"

Aiko almost jumped out of her fur. The frightened she-cat pushed up aganist the corner of her home, her fur all fluffed out. Her throat was hurting her, for she was snarling so loudly.
"The real question is what are you doing here, in my home!" Aiko said angrily.
Deep down though, she knew if this cat were to attack, she would flee.

"I'm not a kittypet." Aiko almost hissed at the strange cat.
Aiko didn't let down her guard. Her fur was still a bit fluffed out but she did seem a little calm. Looking down, she saw here half eaten mouse. As much as she wanted to finish it off, she would have to wait.
"What do you want?" Aiko said sternly as she looked back up.

"Well let's see, I don't live with twolegs or a clan and I'm living all alone! " Aiko answered.
This cat didn't seem very bright, seeing no more threat, Aiko sat down. She picked up her half eaten mouse and placed it in front of here. Staring at it, she wondered if she should eat in front of the other cat. Licking her lips, she decided since this was her home, she could do whatever she wanted. Her tail started to sway as she crouched down to eat.
"So obviously I am a loner." Aiko said after she finished her mouse.

"I don't see why I should tell you, but I don't see any harm coming from it." Aiko said to the strange cat, thinking about how should she explain her 'Story.'
Aiko laid down, wrapping her tail around her paws. She licked her lips clean, once more tasting the the delicious taste of the mouse. Her body was aching, she had had a long day. Who knew being a loner could be so tiring? Maybe it was the fact she had no cat to depend on or help her on her daily routines. Sighing, Aiko looked up at the cat, still not knowing his name, and decided what she was going to say.
"Well there wasn't much tragedy in my life. I was born in a twoleg home, but I liked being outdoors rather than in a stuffy, little box. So when I was about half a year-old, I ran away. I had heard about the clans, but fighting and living in groups was never the life for me. So now, I live alone, here, in my perfect home." Aiko said, almost finished, "So what's your story, oh and what's your name too? My name is Aiko."

Nemesis nodded. "Hello. My name is Nemesis." he paused for a moment thinking of what he was going to say, "My life has been nothing but tragedy. I was born a runt of the litter, my mother despised me my father protected me. He was killed by a Dead Plains warrior then eaten. I joined them after that finally leaving when I was old enough. And here I am." Nemesis finished his shortened version of his fox-dung of a life.
It was all because of Envy. This entire thing. His suffering. All because of that wretched cat! He would kill him. Hurt him. Hurt him baad.

"That's a pretty confusing life." Aiko mewed softly to Nemesis.
She looked into the eyes of the strange cat. So far, it sounded like he had had a rough life. Aiko knew right then she had to invite him to stay here for the night. It seemed like he didn't have a place to stay, and what harm could one night bring anyway? On the other paw, it seemed like he had a bad enemy. Aiko shook that thought from her head. His enemy wouldn't come looking for him tonight, it seemed like Nemesis wanted to find Envy, not the other way around.
"What brings you here anyway?" Aiko asked, thinking about her options.
I'm a fast runner anyway... I could easily find another home...could I? she thought, doubting herself.

"I was tracking some Dead Plains cats for a while and the scent of mouse reminded me that I needed to eat. Which I haven't done for.... two days, I think." Nemesis said, "Do you mind if I hunt in your territory?"

"Well it's not really my territory, but I do hunt here. Of course you may hunt, you look starved. The mice here are good and plentiful." Aiko said with a smile on her face.
Aiko looked at her paws, wondering if she should invite him to stay a night. She weighed her options once more, thinking hard but quickly. Looking back up, she took a deep breath.
"Where do you live?" Aiko's voice cracked.
She had thought about what she was going to say, and then she just chickened out. Her tail moved back and forth angrily, as her ear twitched. She was such a coward!

Nemesis nodded his thanks and left, only to promptly arrive with two mice. "You want one?" he asked. He could eat two but courtesy came first. "I don't particularly have a home. Yet." he said.

When Nemesis was out hunting, Aiko had thought about what to say to him. Her anger had left her and she seemed calm. Her tail had stopped swaying and was now curled around her paws for warmth. With the long day she had, she had forgotten to get some more bedding. Aiko looked up at Nemesis. She was always kind, but she was also a coward. Her whole life she wanted to be something more than a coward.
"Would you like to stay the night?" Aiko meowed strongly to Nemesis.

"If it would be okay with you." Nemesis said. He was looking for a permanent residence but it was quite late and he couldn't turn down such a generous offer. Besides, he needed all his energy to look for Envy the next day.
But what he didn't get is why this loner had invited him to stay, after all showing up tired ruffled and staggering isn't the thing that says 'Hey you're an awesome guest!' It sent more of a message saying, 'Hey I'm going to kill you in your sleep for no particular reason!' Not that he would do that of course. He would have to repay Aiko somehow later.

Aiko was surprised that she had the courage to ask him to stay the night. Things got pretty lonely for her, so it worked out for the better. Aiko curled up in ball, only to then remember that she needed bedding. Getting up, Aiko looked to her guest.
"I forgot to collect bedding today. I'll go and get some." She mewed to Nemesis before racing out the little gap.

Aiko soon stopped. She had found the place where she usually got her bedding. She dipped her head, sniffing for something dry.
"Sure. Just grab as much as you can." Aiko said to Nemesis.
After locating some dry bedding, she opened her mouth as wide as she could make it. She grabbed as much as she could and turned to Nemesis. Waiting, she thought about the sleeping arrangements.
