The moon was above the sky, somewhere between halfway and full. Runningpaw was an eager apprentice, his training much delayed to the betrayal of Fairfeather and the fact that he could not be touched by sunlight. His skin throbbed from only a short venture out of camp, and the tom greatly wished he hadn't done something so foolish.
Of course, here he was, out at night and waiting for Amberstar to send a warrior, or for Snowleaf to match her words. Of course, there was always the off chance that Runningpaw would be left alone, and attempt to train by himself. When no cat arrived immediately, he dropped into a hunting position, red eyes that didn't glow in the night because of the albinism, and long whiskers twitching. A white paw crept foreward as the small tom gazed around himself, not in the flattened position of a ThunderClan cat, but with his legs bundled together, the way a WindClan cat gathered enough speed to catch their prey. He shot out, and the shadow could barely twitch before the male had a dead rabbit between his paws.

Littleheart walked out in the dark night, she loved night walks and it gave her time to think about just anything, her kits were going to become apprentices soon and she was no longer mates with Cherryheart. He was always sweet on her but they've grown apart, this was the right chose to make. She was one of the best hunters in WindClan but being a queen gave her more of a warmer feeling in helping the clan. The dead grass brushed against her white paws, she was hoping that rain would come soon. The grass looked sad, sick, dead, it gave her a bad feeling about Grasskit. He was so brave but didn't understand what being in a clan was like, this made it harder to teach him. He almost got killed by a Dead Plains cat, and thought that fighting was the bravest thing to do. Moonkit, Rockkit, and Mistykit were all so kind, Grasskit was just like his father. She started walking in a huge circle, her mind filled with her past. She could still hear the sounds of her father and mother laughing at her, leaving her saying that she would never be a warrior. Now they were loners far away, never taking care of their small daughter. Only if she wasn't so small cats would treat her better but that would never happen to her. She saw a small rabbit just like her hopping around, if she killed that rabbit it would be the same as someone killing her. But they would rather go for the bigger plumper rabbits not the small ones. Littleheart, a name that made her sound evil, having a little heart. Why did Amberstar give her a name that told her was evil, only thinks of her self. That wasn't her, she is a kind, shy, Small cat with a big heart not a little heart. Littleheart stood were she standing, her orange eyes looking at each side, she saw Runningpaw hunting, good for him. She took a long time staring at him then finally walked away.

Footsteps echoed into his pricked ears, the apprentice raising his nose to the air scenting what was around him. "Littleheart! Wait up!" The tom ran after her, skidding to a halt as dirt flew through the air. Once he stopped moving, the momentum caused him to fall over, but Runningpaw could only purr in amusement. After sitting up and licking the dust from his pelt, the tom began a polite conversation.
"How are your kits doing? Will they be apprentices soon?" The truth was, he would probably be an apprentice with them, even though next moon was usually when apprentices recieved their names, he didn't expect to be made a warrior. Training his own apprentice would be hard as well, afterall, they could only cover so much during the night. "I promise I won't let any of the other apprentices bully them, too!"

Littleheart turned around, it seemed that all apprentices were happy all the time. "Yes, they are going to be made apprentices any day now. Thank for saying that they won't be bullied but Grasskit would stick out for his brother and sisters. Do you miss Cherryheart, he left us and his kits. I know your an apprentice but you seem like a senior warrior the way you act." She said walking back to him.

(ooc: This is post #100!)
The tom cocked his said sideways, and snorted. "You think I act like an old warrior? That's a new one!" Although the statement was slightly obnoxious for his usual tone, he couldn't help but wonder. Was it so odd to look out for his Clanmates at a young age? After a couple thoughtful moments and tail flicks, he decided not to take her words to heart. "Well... I'm hoping to be a warrior soon anyway. As long as I don't get an awful name, maybe something like yours? Runningheart would be kind of feminine though..." His ears pressed against his head, deciding to jump to another topic, get on a happier note. "Who would you like them to be mentored by?" A random question, since he had become aquainted with all the warriors through his system of having to train at night. Whichever cat could bother to stay awake late would have helped him. Of course, something about the night put Runningpaw at unease. He greatly wished to be normal.

"Hope you don't get a name like Littleheart, for you...Runningrabbit." She said looking at his prey.

"Huh? I like Littleheart! It makes you think the cat is very sweet and shy... although, I doubt the shy part." He flattened his ears, lashing his tail at such a ridiculous name. "I hope not! I think... I might be happy as long as its not Runningfeather..." His voice trailed off, and his tone softened, and yet it was easy to see the sadism behind the word 'feather'. He stopped following Littleheart, if she had somewhere to go he didn't need to stop her, and there was also the fact that she would need her sleep and to be with her kits. His tail curled around his paws as Runningpaw sat down and stared at the moon. Red eyes squinted as he studied the spirits of his ancestors, watching him. Were they proud of the warrior, or did they take pity on him for the way he was. It was something Runningpaw could only wonder.

"Littlheart sounds like your evil, don't care for anyone but yourself. Like you have a little heart." She said. She hated her name she rather have Littlewing or breeze. "Runningpaw, you are a strange cat, but kind cat. I just love the night more than the day, it's more peaceful and the night sounds give you a soothing feeling. It helps when your taking care of kits." She said.

He mouthed an 'Oh.' The words were deep, enough so that the tom was getting uncomfortable. He did not enjoy cats putting him on the spot, or getting over emotional, but he continued listening to the queen with his red eyes breaking from the moon and scanning her movements to try and understand. He gave up quickly and returned to staring at the sky. It was obvious that Littleheart needed her space now, so his mouth stayed shut. Under the moonlight was the one time he felt proud of his appearence, glowing as he basked in silver, it made Runningpaw feel almost... handsome. His ears flattened, embarassed at the thought, before quickly shooting up again for anything else that Littleheart wished to say. He picked up the sound of crickets, and felt a cool breeze blow through his fur. Littleheart was right, now with his senses heightened he could feel how calm the night could be. Strange that he had never noticed it before, closing his eyes and welcoming the blackness it brought.

Littleheart looked back at the tom, he didn't yet know how hard life was went your a warrior. She turned away from him, she smelled a cat. ShadowClan. A growled started in her throat, she ran into the direction of where the smell was coming from. She ran to the Thunderpath she heard voices. "Come on lets hunt here, it's night and none here." "But someone mite see us hunting." "No one will see us my apprentice." "Okay we'll hunt."
Littleheart saw the cats now hunting on WindClan territory, she charged at them using her battle yell. The cats didn't expect to see a cat out in the middle of the night. She leaped at the nearest cat, being in the nursery for so long made her want to fight for ages. She didn't feel the claws raked down her thick pelt. The leader of the group ran over the Thunderpath the other followed. Littleheart chased after them making sure that they didn't come back. She raced on the Thunderpath, a car zoomed right into Littleheart. Littleheart now was laying on the ground bleeding hard, her breathing shallow.

It only took moments for Runningpaw to know what was happening. He scrambled after Littleheart, calling after her, "Wait!" His eyes widened as he watch her take on the two cats, and they both turned tail and ran for it. He slowed down to a trot, still shocked at the strength of the she-cat. However, he was snapped out as a monster roared in the distance. "Littleheart, watch out!" He burst foreward again, but the fastest cat in the world couldn't have made it. The tom halted by her figure, battered, bloody and in so many places bones were sticking out at odd angles. "You won't die!" He swore it, and grasped the she-cat's scruff in his neck. He was thankful that StarClan that she was so small, even he was just slightly bigger than her since the apprentice was a tom. He dragged her body across the earth, making sure her wounds didn't scrape the ground. However, there was only so much he could do, there were times it felt like he was about to let go. Each time he paused fot a heartbeat and kept going. After what seemed like ages, he stumbled into camp and collapsed. A piece of his tooth landed on the ground, rolling away covered in blood. "Littleheart!" He yowled, with as much strength as he could.
