Name: Dovestar
Age: 40 moons
Gender: She-cat
Clan: ThunderClan
Rank: Leader
Description:
Dovewing is a short-haired dark silver she-cat with pale green eyes. She is not the biggest cat in the Clan, but she tends to make her presence known. Her fur is very soft and thick, but it gets soggy when wet. Her paws are small, well-proportioned to the rest of her body, but she has long claws. The fur around her muzzle and paws is a little lighter gray. She has long white whiskers and a black nose. Her eyes are the most powerful thing she has. She can't hide any emotion in them, and sometimes that is a disadvantage, but it wins a lot of cats' respect that she always tells exactly what she is feeling. She is slender, but has enough muscle to fight any warrior. Do not underestimate Dovewing.
Personality: Known to be stubborn, Dovewing is a fighter. She doesn't back down easily, because she believes in doing what is right, and that may not always correspond with the warrior code. She is genuinely caring, though, and will never turn down a cat in need. She's ferocious in battle, but hates water because her fur gets so heavy that it pulls her below the surface. Fishing is just not an option with Dovewing. She loves running in the forest, with the wind flowing through her fur. She will give her life ten times over for her Clan and her leader.
History: Born into ThunderClan as Dovekit to her mother Snowfall and her father Darkfur, she became apprenticed like usual at 6 moons. Dovepaw then trained for 11 moons under her wise but some-what short-tempered mentor, Sparrowwing. She worked hard and long, but hunting just didn't seem to come as naturally to her as others and going anywhere near water was out of the question. Sparrowwing tried to help her overcome the fear, and Dovepaw almost drowned when she was 10 moons. She was brilliant in battle training, however, and quickly became the best fighter of all the apprentices. After a particularly bloody battle with rogues, where Dovepaw saved Sparrowwing's life, she became Dovewing. Unfortunately, she had not gotten there quite early enough, and Sparrowwing died from his wounds a day after Dovewing's warrior ceremony. She mourned him for a long time. Even as a new warrior, Dovewing proved herself to be a rare warrior of strength and courage. She was a born leader, and was given the chance to prove it when the deputy, Tigerlily, died a few moons later from greencough. Echostar chose Dovewing as deputy, despite her young age, and she was an efficient and loyal deputy for many seasons. In time, however, Echostar grew old. She was on her last life when ShadowClan raided the camp and Echostar died rescuing a kit from capture. Dovewing, after helping her Clan drive the invaders away, travelled to the Moonstone and became Dovestar, receiving her 9 lives from Echostar, Sparrowwing, Darkfur, Snowfall, and other friends and siblings that had died.
Why your cat would be good as leader: Dovewing isn't like other cats. She knows exactly when to lay down the law, and when to show mercy. She isn't afraid of being proved wrong and will openly admit it, but if you wrong her or lie to her, she does tend to hold a grudge. She would make a great leader. Of course, there are other cats who would also do a spectacular job in this position. Who am I to tell you that Dovewing is better than them all? She probably isn't. But she is passionate about her Clan, and would do anything for them. That's gotta count for something, right?
Roleplay Sample:
Dovewing crouched low in the undergrowth, fighting to keep her tail tip from twitching. The mouse that she was stalking was as yet unaware of her presence. But it will be, she thought bitterly. It was only a matter of time until she messed up and sent the mouse scampering for safety. Or maybe, this would be one of those rare hunting trips where she might manage to kill her prey...
It wasn't that Dovewing was clumsy. It was just that she lacked the patience that was required for stalking prey. Her strengths lay in open battle, where swiftness and split-second decisions were required. She just wasn't born to lay in wait and let events unfold. Dovewing needed action.
She crept forward, remembering to keep her weight light on her paws. She knew the whole mouse feels you, rabbit hears you drill, but it never seemed to matter. The silver she-cat floated through the undergrowth, and tensed her muscles to spring. One more pawstep... Dovewing sprang, but her tail swept the ground as she was taking off and the brittle leaves crackled. The mouse turned to run, and then her claws barely managed to snag its tail. Rejoicing, Dovewing finished it off quickly and paused to snatch up the squirrel and sparrow she had buried earlier before padding back toward the rest of the hunting party, her tail held high.
I may be a warrior, but that doesn't mean I'm perfect. And right now, catching three pieces of fresh-kill in one go is quite an accomplishment for me!
