Lightsky padded up to the edge of the Outlook rock, and swept her eyes across the land below. A chilled breeze rippled through the trees, and made her shiver. She purred to herself, and sat, with her legs pulled in tightly, and her tail curled over them. The moon glimmered brightly above, in the star filled sky. Lightsky sighed, and blinked, a strange feeling settled over her, like she wanted something, but she didn't know what it was.
She looked up again, staring at the stars, and thought. I know what I want. It's Sparrowcall.... Why am I so attached to him....There is just something, special I guess. A shooting star danced across the sky, and her feeling of want grew. I want him to be here, sharing this beautiful night with me...... Am I meant to be with him? She swished her tail back and forth, and moved her gaze from the glimmering sky, to the moonlit forest in front of her.
Lightsky yawned, and then smiled to herself. As much as I like him.... He's a young warrior, and he probably doesn't feel the same way toward me. Does he even want to be friends, or does he want me to leave him alone.... Lightsky shook her head as she found herself thinking more and more about Sparrowcall. I guess I'm thinking about more then warrior duties. Maybe..... Maybe it's time for a change. Since I've been so focused on my warrior duties, and haven't thought about having kits... Or a mate. But if I'm going to be with someone, I would want it to be him.... Lightsky slowly blinked as she imagined being able to be with Sparrowcall. Another breeze rolled over the forest, and she murmured out loud, "I should probably be getting back to camp..."

It wasn't something that would go away easily for him.
The constant feelings of unsureness and the chaos going on plagued the mind of young Sparrowcall.
He just couldn't seem to shake those feelings off.
Across the windswept moorland of WindClan territory, a chilling breeze blew, ruffling the pelt of a young warrior. The stars shone bright across the night sky, and for once, everything was peaceful. Sparrowcall made his way to the outlook rock, grateful for the peaceful time. These were the moments that he treasured in his heart, moments of serenity where he could stop worrying about everything for a short while. The young tom leaped up onto the rock, his pelt glimmering a bit in the moonlight.
"Hello Lightsky." He muttered, his voice quiet. His tone was neither soft nor hard, and he revealed little emotion. Yet, there was an unmistakable glimmer of happiness in his eyes. Sparrowcall smiled ever so slightly as his gaze was drawn to the stars.
There was still something that was bothering Sparrowcall though. A persistent feeling that kept returning. I've been feeling all of this unsureness lately... He let out a quiet sigh, and continued looking up at the stars. [/blockquote]

Lightsky's ears flicked back, as Sparrowcall's voice floated on the wind. She smiled, and softly replied, "Sparrowcall, it's good to see you out here." He's here...... That's... Strange...
Lightsky looked at her paws, and breathed in the air, but the wind was blowing away from her. She sighed, "I've.... Been thinking.... That.." She blinked, trying to think of what to say, but nothing came to mind. How do I talk to him?
She let out a slight purr, and looked back up at the stars, ".... Never mind.... So.... Um, what brings you out here at this time?" She waited with her ears pricked, for his reply, curious, at what he would say. Will he go, or stay with me...

Sparrowcall barely heard Lightsky, as his attention was almost completely directed at the sky. "Huh? Oh. I guess I just wanted to stargaze again." His voice was a bit shaky, and he shivered as a cold wind nipped at him, blowing across the windswept moorlands.
"So what brings you out here?" He basically just repeated Lightsky's question, but he couldn't think of anything to say. Sparrowcall had never really been a social cat, and he wasn't about to start talking all the time now. His eyes sparkled against his fur, and he let out a quiet sigh.
Sparrowcall gazed out onto the moorlands, almost forgetting Lightsky's presence. A cold breeze blew by again, and he shivered.
Suddenly, his paws itched to run. Just to run across the moorlands, going as fast as he could. Sparrowcall leaped off of the outlook rock, and gazed out across WindClan territory. For just a few moments, the unsureness disappeared from his eyes and serenity replaced them. With the stars sparkling above in the sky, and the wind blowing across the moorlands down were he was standing, tonight was a perfect night for young Sparrowcall. [/blockquote]

Lightsky was just opening her mouth to reply, when Sparrowcall lunged off of the rock. She quietly laughed, and closed her mouth. Such a young cat.... I guess he's not thinking about a mate or kits yet. Unlike me... I suppose our age is just too much of a difference.
Lightsky stood, and leaned over the edge of the rock, to see Sparrowcall standing at it's base, staring across the open moorland. She sighed, and murmured to herself, "He seems troubled. I wonder if there's something on his mind..."
She bunched her muscles, and jumped off of the rock. Landing softly a few tail lengths behind Sparrowcall. She padded forward, and sat next to him, "Do you want to talk to me? Or are you going to flee whenever I open my mouth?" Her tone had a soft ring to it, but an edge of sarcasm danced on her words.

"What? You expect me to pour out my worries to every single cat I run into?" He muttered, his voice hard as he turned away from Lightsky a bit. When have I ever been a very social cat? He added in his head. Sparrowcall, quite simply, just didn't want to talk that much.
"Sorry." He said quickly, his voice softer this time. "I just don't feel like talking." For a few moments, Sparrowcall sat in near silence, barely moving, making little sound other than the shuffling of his paws against the ground. Her nervously smiled, and looked up at the stars. Ok, I guess I'll try to start a conversation...
He sighed and turned to Lightsky. "So what was it like when you stole food from ShadowClan? Who did you run into?" Feeling nervous, after he spoke, he quickly turned his gaze away from her, and up at the stars. Sparrowcall shuffled his paws against the ground again, and unsureness flickered in his deep blue eyes. Lightsky jumped, at Sparrowcall's question. So, their still talking about that...Well, I guess there isn't any harm telling him about it. Besides, I didn't do it for myself, so he should know the whole story anyway.
She looked up at the glimmering stars, and tried to figure out where to start. After a few moments of silence, she finally smiled, and began talking.
"I went into Shadowclan territory, because.... I, was hungry. That is the reason, and I will not deny it." A sharp flash lit her eyes for a moment, then she started to speak softly again. "I didn't want to take prey from Windclan territory for myself. I wanted others to have it. So, I went into Shadowclan territory to try and find something to eat." Lightsky laughed for a moment, "Well, I got caught, and got into a.... Small quarrel. They took me back to their camp, and for awhile I had to stay there." She paused, and looked at her paws. "And...." She swallowed, and waited a moment. "Um, eventually I got back to Windclan."
Lightsky smiled, and looked over at Sparrowcall, "Now, I have a question, and a request for you. My question is, why did you want to know about that? And my request is, I want you to share something with me now." She sat staring at him as she waited for him to react.

Not very surprised at Lightsky's request, he let out a brief laugh. Well, what else should I expect? She's just wants to talk I guess. In general, Sparrowcall wasn't normally a pleasant cat to talk to. He didn't talk much to start with, and when he did, he would end up saying something offensive, whether he intended to or not. "Hmm. Well, my life hasn't been extremely exciting so far." Sparrowcall's voice had a slight edge to it, as if he was regretting trying to start a conversation.
What should I talk about... Despite the unsureness that was in his voice, his eyes had a certain glimmer to them. As he searched for something to talk about, he looked out across the moorland.
"Well, I was never very social, even when I was a kit. I didn't go out of the nursery often, and for a little while, I was the only kit in the nursery." Sparrowcall's voice wasn't exactly soft, but it didn't have much of a hard edge to it either. "I asked you that question, because, well, I was just trying to start a conversation I guess." He didn't face Lightsky, and kept his blue eyes on the moorland in front of him.
"So what were the ShadowClan cats like?" He said after a few moments. Sparrowcall let out a quiet sigh, his voice barely audible. [/blockquote]

Lightsky blinked, and sighed. A light breeze rolled across the ground, and ruffled her fur. She swished her tail as she pulled her legs in closer.
"Sparrowcall, um, I'd prefer not to talk... About that anymore." Her eyes flashed, and she swallowed.
She flicked her ear, and tried to change the subject. "Why, aren't you very social? Did something happen to you? Or... Is it just, your nature?"
Lightsky looked up at the sky, I want to tell him how much I like him... But, I don't know how he will react.... He needs a friend, but... I don't know what to do, he's making it difficult. She tilted her head, and she looked over Sparrowcall, he seemed confused. She wanted so much to bring him out of the cloud he was in, and open his eyes to what was around him.

Well, there goes the conversation. Sparrowcall had actually become quite curious about the time Lightsky had spent in ShadowClan. Yet, he pushed his curiosity back and pretended to want to change the subject as well. I wonder what it was like in ShadowClan. I know that I would never be able to live there. I'm not sure what I would do with out the open moor. He turned to Lightsky, and began to speak.
"It's just how I am I guess." His reply was short, and he had a bit of a hard tone. "So... now I ask you... why do like to talk?" This time, Sparrowcall's voice was a bit softer, as if he seemed curious. He never was one to socialize all the time, and he was one of the quieter kits when he was a kit.
The wind blew across the moorland, making Sparrowcall shiver. Well I'm getting cold. He thought. "We should probably head back to camp soon." He kept his voice to little more than a whisper. For a few moments, he sat quietly, gazing out at the moor. This is were he was truly at home, not under a canopy of trees, not on a wet marsh, and not near the river all the time. The moorlands of WindClan territory are where he truly belonged. [/blockquote]

Lightsky lightly laughed, and her eyes gleamed. "I wouldn't say that I just like to talk.... I like to be around other cats now, more then I used to."
The wind made the grass ripple, and the trees shake, then Lightsky continued talking. "When I was younger, I remember being more..... Independent. I guess I just kind of kept to myself, and went about my duties. But being like that didn't change how loyal I was to Windclan."
She sighed, and began to wonder, "I..... I'm not really sure what changed me. I talk to more cats now, and spend more time around the camp. I also think about having a mate, and kits.." She quickly paused, her ears began to feel warm with embarrassment. I wonder what he's thinking.....
Lightsky yawned, and blinked a few times, "I think about other things now. Maybe.... You're the same way. Perhaps one day, you'll start to...." She let her voice softly trail, and be whisked into the breeze. Then she stood, and flicked her tail against Sparrowcall's shoulder, "Let's go back to camp, it's cold, and late. And we'll probably be hunting, or on patrol tomorrow. We need to sleep."

Sparrowcall stood up and stretched, and another cold breeze nipped at him. "I'm getting sick of this chilling wind. I wish New Leaf would just come already." He paused, and looked back at Lightsky. "I've never thought about having a mate or kits. I guess I've just been focusing on my warrior duties." Sparrowcall turned his gaze back to the direction of camp, and his paws itched to run again.
"I'm not sure if I'll ever want a mate." His voice was a bit quieter this time, and it trailed off at the end. "Lets go back to camp. I'm getting pretty cold now." He took a few steps in the direction of camp, and then spoke again. "I just hope I'm not on the dawn patrol."
Sparrowcall sped up into a jog, and looked back once at Lightsky. "Coming?" His fur was ruffled by the wind as he ran, and he shivered again. He quickened his pace, hoping he would be able to get back to camp soon. Sometimes, he just felt as if he had this strong urge to run across WindClan territory, and leave his troubles behind him. Sparrowcall knew he would never want to live anywhere except for in WindClan. [/blockquote]

Lightsky smiled, and leaned forward into a stretch. Her muscles ached from the cold, and now she wanted to be curled up in a soft, warm nest. She yawned, and shook herself, a chilled breeze swept over the moorland, urging her to go back to camp.
Lightsky started trotting, then picked up into an easy run, her belly rumbled with hunger, but she would wait until the morning to eat. As she caught up to Sparrowcall, she meowed, "Let's go." She sped up, into a faster run. Her paws glided gracefully over the smooth, but frosted grass, and she laughed as the wind blew back her fur. I hope Sparrowcall gets as much out of this as I do. He needs to start thinking about other things, and letting himself have fun.
