Quietpaw padded around ShadowClan territory, trying to find some prey. She hadn't been out of camp alone before, and it was fun yet slightly frightening. The moon shone down on her white pelt from it's place low in the sky; the apprentice had been sure to leave before the sun went down, but she'd had no luck with hunting. This frustrated her, making her stay out later than expected. She looked around curiously, and watched as a bird flew among the trees. It was a night bird; probably an owl. All the larks and robins would be in their nests by now.
Quietpaw continued her search, scenting the air. For the first time tonight, she scented something fresh; but it wasn't prey. What could it be, if not a mouse or a frog? "Aw, don't be afraid," she muttered to herself. "Warriors aren't scared of anythin'." The apprentice kept walking until she reached a burnt tree, the Burnt Sycamore. She'd never actually seen it up close, since her mentor had always brought her closer to camp. She tilted her head up and to the side, eyes staring up at the scorched branches.

Milkpoppy was on her way back from the carrion place when she picked up the secent of Shadowclan, an apprentice maybe. She stopped dead waring that the apprentice had seen her with Hunter earlier. She stepped out of the bush to see, Quietpaw looking at the Burnt Sycamore. Milkpoppy starred smiling, she wanted an apprentice, but she had to wait till Clawears and Crowstars kit's were six moons. "Hi Quietpaw, whats up?" she asked the younge apprentice.

Quietpaw was staring up into the branches, wondering when the first stars of Silverpelt would show up, when someone spoke from a few tail-lengths away. Startled, the ShadowClan apprentice jumped, fur bristling, and claws unsheathed. Her ears flattened against her head as she glared into the growing shadows. "Oh, hey, Milkpoppy," she mewed, but didn't relax her stance completely; her claws sheathed and her ears went back to normal, but her fur remained bristling. "Um... you aren't gonna tell anyone I was out here alone, will ya?" She shuffled her paws nervously, wondering if she could trust the warrior. Most ShadowClan cats would do anything to rat a cat like her out, even if they were best friends. Just because she was kinda different with her looks and actions is what seperated her from most of the other apprentices. Even her sister was different from her; they walked different paths, her's that of a medicine cat, and Quietpaw's that of a warrior. The young cat's gaze returned from the ground back to the skies, then to the rising moon. A Gathering would be soon, she could tell from the size of it. It was still too early for any warriors of Silverpelt to be seen, but Quietpaw could tell they would be here soon.

Milkpoppy starred at the apprentice, she was Little but brave. The full moon was going to rise to night. Quietpaw was a good friend, she would not tell her to go home or tell on her. "Well, let me see..." she started. "You can stay out hear until dawn, I would say. But you need to be safe and responsible." she finished. "Oh, may I stay out hear with you for awhile?" she asked the young apprentice.

"Yeah, sure," Quietpaw shrugged. "I don't care. You're a warrior; you could stay out as long as you wanted anyway." The apprentice watched the skies, waiting for the sun to set. Her gaze darted to the moon and she watched it for a while, noticing every tiny movement as it ascended into the sky. "Hey, Milkpoppy?" she mewed, not looking away from the bright light of the moon. "Thanks. For not tellin' any cat that I was out here alone. And for lettin' me stay." The first warriors of StarClan had begun to show up, shining dully through the slight covering of clouds. But as the sun went lower and the moon was clearly visible on the horizon, they shone brighter than any stars Quietpaw had ever seen. Even as a curious kit, she was never interested in her ancestors. But now that she was training to become a warrior, she wanted to know everything she could. This was her first real look at the sky, and technically, the first time she looked up to her warrior ancestors.

Milkpoppy followed Quietpaws gaze to the darkening sky. They were brighter then ever before. "Your wellcome..." she said and layed down, enjoying the moons coldness.
