Mosseyes slowly stalked into the Abandoned Badger Set, senses alert for prey. It's much warmer in here, the she-cat thought happily. The young tabby scented the air. Rabbits.
The WindClan deputy pricked her ear and quickly found her prey. A rabbit will hear you first, a mouse will see you first, Mosseyes thought reminding herself of her apprentice days.
The tabby dropped into a hunter's crouch and slowly crept over to the resting rabbit. She swiftly killed the prey with one swipe of her black paw. The she-cat twitched her whiskers and buried the mildly plump rabbit.

Silverpaw speeded across the moorland. " there has to be burdock around here somewhere...!" she tripped and went flying into the side of the cave with a resounding THUD!

Amberstar was speeding across the moor in pursuit of a rabbit whom she had found by surprise. Her lithe form was a subtle blur, and outlined with snow.
WindClan needs food... the WindClan leader thought. If you want it done, you have to do it yourself.
She lifted her paw, and struck the rabbit on the neck, disorienting it. Moments later, the rabbit was no more. Carrying her catch toward camp, she stumbled upon Silverpaw, who appeared to have fallen, and Mosseyes, her deputy burying her catch.
"Nice work Mosseyes." Amberstar mewed dully. "Silverpaw, even medicine cats must learn how to use their legs." She growled.

"Oh... sorry." Silverpaw blushed. " I was just looking for burdock.. did you see any?"

Mosseyes quickly turned to find Silverpaw on the ground. "Silverpaw are you okay?" the deputy asked as she scented Amberstar's approach. The she-cat was carrying a newly caught rabbit.
"Nice work Mosseyes. Silerpaw, even medicine cats must learn how to use their legs."
The brown tabby felt sympathy for the medicine cat in training, but she knew the apprentice had to learn. "Thank you, Amberstar." she mewed dipping her head to the WindClan leader.

Mosseyes looked over to Silverpaw, "Sorry no. I'll keep my eyes open though." she mewed. Anxiety shown in the silver cat's eyes. Mosseyes scented the air in hope that the prey was still around.
Still some prey in here, the tabby thought.

"It's just... Darksoul..... " Said Silverpaw. She fliched. " oow... my head hurts.." she swayed almost undetectably.

Mosseyes remembered seeing Darksoul earlier. Her flank was bleeding and she was coughing. "Will she be alright?" the tabby asked demandingly. The WindClan deputy had sent the warrior to camp earlier. Mosseyes hoped Darksoul would be in good enough condition soon. WindClan couldn't afford to lose any warriors now, especially not Darksoul.
The dark brown she-cat's eyes were clouded with worry. She hated when cats had to suffer.

"She seemed alright.. but Pinefur told me to... that was a big gash.." said Silverpaw. She felt slightly sick.

"Hmmm..I see. That rabbit did a lot of harm to her. How about the cough?" Mosseyes mewed quickly. Silverpaw looked light headed. "Silverpaw, are you alright?" the she-cat asked.

Mosseyes was relieved to hear about Darksoul. "Are you sure, you don't look so good." she mewed. The tabby shivered as she imagined the next rabbit she caught putting up a fight like Darksoul's had.
The WindClan deputy licked Silverpaw's shoulder to comfort her.

She looked at Mosseyes. her bright green eyes were filled with adoration. "Yeah, I'm ok now. thanks!!" Then she saw some burdock. "Hey, look! Burdock! Now i can get some for Darksoul! She thought for a second. Do you want to help....?" she looked up cautiously.

Mosseyes looked to the strange plant. "Sure." she mewed. The she-cat slowly padded to the Burdock plant and examined it. She scented it's distinct smell. The harsh wind ruffled her fur up. She looked like a scared kit, with her fur like that. The tabby shook herself, trying to get her pelt back to normal. The attempt failed. The WindClan deputy didn't care though.

Silverpaw looked over at mosseyes. "I know. Burdock smells so.. weird!" she dug up the roots and looked up at mosseyes. "Thanks for helping."

Mosseyes carefully dug into the hard, frozen ground to find the life saving Burdock root. She twitched her nose as the smell of it arose. The fur on the back of her pelt prickled. The she-cat removed the root from the cold shallow hole she had dug. The brown tabby dug a few more holes with her black paws and took up some more of the strange root.
The WindClan deputy gathered her supply of Burdock root and set it in front of Silverpaw. "I hope this helps. Now we know where to find the Burdock you can keep your supplies up." she mewed to the apprentice. "Do all herbs smell so...foul?" The tabby tilted her head to the side in curiosity.

Silverpaw thought for a moment. "no.. some are really sweet. Each herb smells unique. My favorite is catmint!" she thought. "and marigold smells nice..."

Mosseyes thought of the delicious herb. "I forgot about cat mint." she mewed. The classic tabby padded back by the badger set entrance. She sat down and licked her paws, which were dirty from digging. The warmth of the set heated her back, though the wind chilled her fur.
