Snowheart trotted into the camp, with a mouse, and a rabbit hanging from her mouth. She breathed in the scent of the fresh meat, and sighed, it had been awhile since she had gotten to hunt, and the fresh meat dangling from her mouth, was still warm, and she was very hungry. The clan comes first though. Snowheart walked to the fresh kill pile, and dropped the plump rabbit on top. Then, she sat near a tree, and began to pick at the warm, juicy mouse. The warm meat slid down her throat, and she sighed. It was so very good. She looked up, and saw Thunderpelt padding toward her, "Hello Thunderpelt!" She swished her tail happily, and smiled. __________________________________________________________
Thunderpelt stared at Snowheart, what was she doing out of the nursery? He stood over her, and tilted his head to one side, "Were you hunting?" She nodded, "Yes, I was. There's some fresh rabbit, if your hungry." He squinted, puzzled, "What about your kits? We'll bring you food, you didn't have to go hunting, you have a priority." Snowheart sighed, "I know, my kits, are sleeping. And I still have a duty to my clan, Thunderpelt. I am no different then the rest of the warriors, I will do my part. Besides, I was getting hungry, and I didn't want to trouble anyone." Thunderpelt laughed, "Fair enough." Then he settled next to her.

Dustfoot's stomach growled, and he walked over to the fresh-kill pile. The expression on his face revealed that he was deep in thought. He was still concerned about Nightpaw. What to do, what to do. He thought while he picked up a rabbit from the fresh-kill pile. He noticed Snowheart and Thunderpelt, and walked over to them. Dustfoot dropped the rabbit in front of his paws and said, "Snowheart, why are you out of the nursery?" Dustfoot's tone was neither soft, nor harsh as he spoke. He sat down, thinking about Nightpaw again. He had reason to believe that Nightpaw had fallen in love with an apprentice from Riverclan. Dustfoot shook his head, and looked back at Snowheart.

Snowheart swallowed another warm peice of meat, and inclined her head to Dustfoot, "I'm still going to do my part in the clan, Dustfoot." She licked her lips, "And I was hungry." She knawed another chunk of meat off, chewed, and swallowed, "Your welcome to join us, Dustfoot, if you'd like." Snowheart glanced toward the nursery, "I don't have very long, I should return to my kits, before they wake up." ___________________________________________________________________________________
Thunderpelt sighed, "You have a duty to your kits too, Snowheart. Your loyal, to think of your clan, but it's dangerous to leave your kits alone." She finished off the mouse meat, and started to lick the bones, "I know, I don't leave them alone very long, besides, their almost old enough to be apprenticed." He flicked his ear, "That is true. I would like to mentor Icekit, she's full of energy, but, it's up to Silverstar to decide." Thunderpelt yawned again, and began to eye Dustfoot's rabbit.

Dustfoot nodded and picked up his rabbit. "Very well. Just make sure that you return to your kits soon." He said, more softly this time. He sat down next to Thunderpelt and started munching on his rabbit. Dustfoot glanced up quickly, deep in thought again. It was a few moments before he realized he was staring up at the sky, and thought, There I go, drifting off into thought again. He swished his tail around and took a few more bites out of the rabbit.

Snowheat purred at the deputy, "I will, Dustfoot. I care about my kits, and I need to eat, to be able to feed them." She spoke with humer in her voice, then licked up the last scrap off of the mouse bones. She licked her lips, her stomach full, inclined her head to Dustfoot, and Thunderpelt, "It's been nice talking to you. I'll see you around." She purred again, and got up, and then slowly padded back to the nursery. She could hear mews coming from inside, when she entered, her kits were laying close together, a few of them awake, and wailing for food. Snowheart smiled, and rolled onto her side, as her hungry kits started to crawl closer. ___________________________________________________________________________________
Thunderpelt twitched his ear, and purred back to Snowheart, then faced Dustfoot. "Would you like me to take out a patrol later?" He looked up at the sky, "It's a beautiful day, and I'd love to get out into the forest." Thunderpelt licked his muzzle again, and looked at a squirrel, it smelled fresh, and if he was going to take out a patrol, he would need to eat first. He inclined his head to Dustfoot, and quickly got up, picked up the squirrel, that was still warm, then laid next to Dustfoot again, and began to chew on the warm, juicy meat.

Dustfoot raised his head and gave Snowheart a quick nod as she entered the nursery. He looked back down at his rabbit and ate the remains of it quickly, before he stood up and stretched for a moment. He gazed at the sky for a moment, deep in thought again. Without looking at Thunderpelt, he said, "Yes, that would be good. Thank you." He padded away, without shifting his gaze from the sky. It is a nice day.... I think I will go hunting now. He thought as he examined the fresh-kill pile.

Thunderpelt nodded, "I'll leave as soon as I'm done eating. I'll take Nightpaw, and maybe Snowheart. She seems to be in the mood for it. Is there anyone else I should take?" He quickly licked up another morsel of meat, and swallowed.

Dustfoot heard Thunderpelt speak, but he was too distracted by his thoughts. He couldn't stop thinking about how to get Nightpaw to listen to him. Dustfoot just hoped that Nightpaw wouldn't do anything too dangerous. He let out a sigh and turned back to Thunderpelt and asked, "Sorry I didn't hear you." He sat down and looked at the warrior, but his attention quickly shifted from the warrior, and he was lost in his thoughts. After a moment or two, he shook his head and looked back at Thunderpelt.

Thunderpelt narrowed his eyes at Dustfoot, a feeling of concern started to creep through him, "I, I said I was going to take Nightpaw, and maybe Snowheart. Do you have any other suggestions?" He licked his muzzle, and tilted his head, "Dustfoot, are you...okay?" Thunderpelt studied the deputy, he seemed to be...thinking, and distracted.
