Kit Name: Shadowkit
Apprentice Name: Shadowpaw
Warrior Name: Shadowfern
Clan: Shadowclan
Age: 19 moons
Gender: Female
Description: Shadowfern is a small tabby with a white underneath and grey-green eyes. She is not a very intimidating cat or interesting cat at first glance. As she is so small, she tends to blend into the background a lot. When Shadowfern fluffs her fur out completely, she tends to look a lot bigger. Normally this happens if she is mistaken for an apprentice, which tends to happen often. She looks so much bigger when she fluffs her fur out, that the offending cat wonders how they could have thought of her as an apprentice. Shadowfern's fur is long and rather fluffy. Her long tail always seems to be moving about because she is easily made restless. Her eyes dart about constantly because she is always on the look out for danger.
Personality: Shadowfern is a bit of an outsider in her clan. She has a strange personality - on the outside she repels people with a mixture of shyness and a sharp tongue but on the inside she greatly longs for companionship. Shadowfern is very lonely and often covers this up with anger or bitterness. In rare moments, Shadowfern is nice and shows a caring side, but this niceness may seem forced or be peppered with a few snide remarks. Shadowfern adores kits and completely changes into a soft, sweet cat when she's with kits. In the future, Shadowfern dearly hopes for a litter of her own, but as she has no close friends she has not disclosed this hope to anyone. Shadowfern is ruthless in battle and doesn't show mercy to anyone. She doesn't seem very energetic around camp but it is clear that she is rather energetic when she is hunting or fighting.
History: Shadowfern's mother was Fernwing of Shadowclan and her father was Forestpelt of Shadowclan. Shadowfern was an energetic kit but seemed to bond more with her mother than any other kits her age. When she became an apprentice, she didn't get on well with her mentor until her mother died. When she was mourning for Fernwing, her mentor was very understanding as her mother had died three moons into her training as well. Shadowfern was not especially friendly with any other apprentices and wasn't brilliant at working in a group. Shortly after she completed her training, her father and her mentor became mates. Shadowfern felt betrayed by her mentor; she thought she was trying to take her mother's place. Shadowfern drifted away from her mentor and her father and became a very lonely cat.
Roleplay Sample:
Shadowfern stalked through the forest, keeping to the shadows and the safety of the pines. She could smell squirrel somewhere near and in leafbare her clan needed all the prey she could get. Shadowfern paused; she heard the squirrel and she could smell it too. She pinpointed the location of the squirrel and crouched down. Taking care not to make a noise, she prepared to pounce. The squirrel looked round as Shadowfern landed on it. With a swift bite to the neck she killed the squirrel. Picking it up by the neck, she started to take it back to camp, its tail dragging on the ground.
