Daywing padded towards the river, her eyes focused on the rushing water. She had caught plenty of prey, considering the fact that she'd been hunting nearly all day. Now, she just wanted to relax... The she-cat stepped into the river, the muddy bank soft beneath her paws. She paused and looked across it, into ThunderClan territory. She tilted her head to the side, then an idea occurred to her. After scenting the air, she thought, No one's around... it may be another Clan's territory, but my Clan deserves it... Her eyes sparked with defiance as she crossed over, out of RiverClan territory. The sun shone on her golden tabby pelt, glossy from her diet of fish and shining now because of the sun's rays. She closed her eyes for a heartbeat, before trotting confidently over to the Sunningrocks, hopping onto the nearest one. Her Clan's territory may have ended at the riverbank, but it had once extended past there, claiming this beautiful and scenic spot. "Hmph," she laughed, closing her eyes and rolling over to her side as the sun danced on her fur. "Now I remember why we fought for this place."

Thunderpelt weaved through the trees, intent on the squirrel scent. He started trotting faster, but as he did so, he found that the scent he was following started to change.... He stopped, and lifted his nose to the air, breathing in heavily. He sorted through the smells, squirrel, trees, frost, water, and...Riverclan! Thunderpelt's fur bristled, and he growled slightly through his teeth. He waved his tail, and lunged out of the forest, into the open. The water in the river was rushing, and the although a soft line of frost covered the ground, the sun shone brightly, warming the area.
Thunderpelt scanned the Sunningrocks, until he saw a golden lump of fur laying on the rocks. He flexed his muscles, and unsheathed his claws, and then ran toward the rocks, yowling, "This is Thunderclan territory!" He increased his speed, and launched himself onto one of the rocks, to gaze upon the cat. It was a beautiful golden tabby she-cat. Thunderpelt tried to skid to a stop, but his paws slipped on some loose stones, and he slid across the smooth, wet surface of the rocks, and crashed right into the Riverclan she-cat.

Daywing was absorbed in the warm feeling spreading over her as the sun rose higher, and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until it was too close to avoid. "This is ThunderClan territory!" she heard, and leaped up, eyes widening in surprise. She scented the air quickly and knew for sure that this cat would probably run her off his territory. She arched her back defensively, hissing, and then she finally saw the tom crashing towards her. He was a handsome silver tom, and when the sun hit his pelt it shone healthily, as if it were groomed every moment of the day. She was jerked out of her trance just as the mousebrain slipped, tumbling closer and closer until- "Hey, watch-" she hissed, but it turned into a surprised yowl as he crashed into her, sending them both tumbling backwards. She felt the breath knocked out of her as she hit water, and the next thing she knew, she went under. Being a RiverClan cat has its perks, she thought as she swam back to the surface. She gulped down air, then paddled easily to the bank, not caring that it was still ThunderClan territory. That reminded her- where was the tom that had tumbled down with her? Could he have already made it back onto his territory, waiting to ambush her? Or maybe he wasn't as strong a swimmer as even the youngest RiverClan kit, and the river had claimed him, sweeping him downstream until he could no longer fight back? A wave of panic hit Daywing. She turned back to the water and searched for any glimpse of a silver pelt. What if, because of her, he was in StarClan?
(( Sorry that took so long; and the fact that it's kinda rushed. I wanted to post before I forgot, but I have to go the bed. So... that kind of limited the length, depth, etcetera. ^^;; ))

Thunderpelt was in the water, he couldn't grasp what had just happened, one moment he was sliding across the smooth surface of the Sunningrocks, the next, he was being tossed among the waves. He struggled to get to the surface, and gasp for air. The force of the waves shoved him against a rock, hidden beneath the surface. He scrabbled at it, and pulled himself closer to the shore. The cold air chilled his wet fur as he pulled himself out of the water, and onto the bank.
Thunderpelt's wet fur glistened, as it reflected the pale leaf-fall sun, and then he laid his eyes on the Riverclan she-cat. Her beautiful golden tabby fur only looked prettier when it was wet, he blinked a few times, before starting to pad toward her. He looked her over again, and found it hard to pull his eyes away, she was the most beautiful cat he had ever seen. Thunderpelt shook himself, and stopped when he was few fox-lengths in front of her. How should he start talking... Not by yelling at her to get off of Thunderclan territory. He waved his wet tail, "Um...Are you okay?"

Daywing took a step toward the water, frantically searching the surface. Her eyes shone with worry, though she knew she shouldn't care this much. "Foxdung," she hissed, shaking her head. This was going to turn into a much bigger ordeal, an unneeded dilemma that the she-cat could do without. She bunched her muscles together, preparing to launch herself back into the water to find the tom, when she heard a voice from beside her. Daywing jumped and spun to face him. Her fur bristled slightly in surprise, but otherwise she composed herself. "Um... Are you okay?" he asked. She couldn't help but laugh, a sarcastically amused sound. "Ha. Am I okay? You mousebrain, I'm the RiverClan cat here." she scoffed, her voice somehow managing to keep to it's normal tone, without showing how distracted she was by his presence. He was handsome, easily more so than any cat in her own Clan. She couldn't help but wonder, maybe that was why? Perhaps, in the back of her mind, she was only attracted to him because it was something forbidden? Strictly against the warrior code, and she knew it. But why was it, that whenever she tried to look away, her eyes felt like they were drawn to him? She paused, allowing herself to calm down. It had only been heartbeats since they had fallen into the water, and yet somehow it felt like moons. "Um... what about you?" she meowed. "Are you okay?" What are you doing? her thoughts were screaming. He just tried to attack you! Why are you bothering with this? But honestly, in that moment, she couldn't care less. She didn't know why, but she was worried about him. And suddenly, she had an overwhelming urge to look presentable, not the soaking wet mess of fur that she felt like. Unconsciously, she relaxed into a sitting position, drawing a paw over her ear and grooming herself slightly. It was self-conscious and vain, but she couldn't help but wonder what he thought of her.

Thunderpelt flicked his ears back, "Thunderclan cats are not harmed that easily." He kept his voice cool, and even, and stared at her. He could feel his heart throbbing, as he looked at her, his pelt bristled at the thought of being able to get close to her. What am I thinking!? She's from Riverclan.... It's against the warrior code... But, but she's so beautiful...
Thunderpelt blinked, and twitched his whiskers, he took a slow step toward her, and felt his fur stand straight. He swallowed, "Um, well. You do know, you're on... Thunderclan territory, right?" He waved his tail toward the river to signal that she had crossed the border, although she probably knew. He sighed, I probably sound stupid... And what am I thinking... A beautiful Riverclan cat like her... Thunderpelt shuffled his paw along the ground, and meowed, "I'm sorry... For.... running into you, and.. making you fall, in the river...."

Daywing purred in amusement, meeting his eyes. "If we're going to go over this, then shouldn't I be snapping at you for going into my Clan's river?" she asked, tilting her head to the side to show that she was only teasing. Her tail-tip flicked, indicating the river in mention. "And 'sides, why would a cat like me mind getting a little wet? It's what my Clan does daily, isn't it?" She felt a little bit guilty, for several reasons. One, it was as much her fault as it was his that they were in this predicament. And two, she shouldn't even be talking with him. But she couldn't just leave... there was something different about him. "I'm Daywing," she mewed, dipping her head. "I suppose I was on your territory... and not by accident, I'll admit." Give him a chance, that's what to do. If he didn't like it, he could run her out- and she'd stay away, no complaint given. But if he tried, she wouldn't go without a fight. Even if she couldn't even come close to killing him, it was her nature to give an attacker a few scars to remember her by. If push came to shove, she would fight back. But if he let her go, albeit with a warning, she'd see if she could possibly meet him again, somewhere where they wouldn't have to be watching out for signs of trespassing. Maybe, just maybe, he felt the same way that she did?
(( Sorry that took so long... and wasn't as great as I'd planned... but either way, I finally replied! ^^;; ))

Thunderpelt's whiskers twitched, "Well, I guess you're right. Does that mean I should chase you back to your own territory?" He laughed lightly, and waved his tail in a circle. He shivered slightly as a cold breeze ruffled his fur, "And I'm, Thunderpelt." He looked at his paws, and listened to the river trickling next to them. What do I say....... She's so beautiful, and I don't want her to leave.......
Thunderpelt cleared his throat, and rolled a stone along the ground with his paw. "Um...So, are...You going to go back?" His heard pounded, "Not that I want you to go! Not at all. I was actually wondering if we could meet again somewhere." The words were out so quick he barely realized what he's said. He looked at Daywing, her fur prickling scent drifted from around her body, Thunderpelt blinked, and sighed.

Daywing barely suppressed a shocked laugh. Obviously he felt something... maybe not the same thing, but something all the same. And he seemed just as dumbfounded as she did about it. She ducked her head to hide her relief. "I don't know..." she mewed, narrowing her eyes at the ground. "I'd like to see you again, but... what if our Clans found out?" she glanced up again, worried she'd said too much. It wasn't like they were mates, so they shouldn't have to worry about it... But then again, friends or mates, it's all the same to certain cats, she thought. If someone were to see us, they'd surely report it to the leader. And from their point of view, it would probably be seen as mates meeting each other, or worse, a trade of secrets. Either way, we'd be in trouble, because when has a Clan leader ever listened to a cat's entire story without having already made their decision? She sighed and closed her eyes. What did it matter? They weren't doing anything wrong... so long as they weren't mates, it shouldn't matter. So what if a cat saw them? She lifted her head, suddenly remembering that she wasn't alone. Far from it- she was surprised she could forget his presence in the slightest. "I'd love to meet you again somewhere," she purred, thinking of "safe" places for them to go. "We could meet here, but it'd have too much of a chance of a patrol coming by, from either Clan. Fourtrees would be safest. Is that okay?"

Thunderpelt stared at Daywing, his eyes glistened, and he purred, "Oh, um, Fourtrees....Yeah, that would be great." A quick image of Icefur flashed in his mind, and for a moment he remembered that he'd thought she was the one he wanted to be with. He's known her for awhile, and she was a good friend. But there was just something about Daywing, that made him want to be more then friends. He sighed, and her lovely Riverclan scent hit him in a wave. What would Icefur think if she knew I was with a Riverclan cat.....But, it's not her decision, who my friends are.
Thunderpelt nodded, and swished his tail across the ground, "When should we meet?" His heart throbbed at the thought of meeting Daywing again. And he twitched his ears back. He stood, and slowly took a step closer to Daywing, his fur stood, and he murmured, "Um...Sorry." He took another step back, sat, and curled his tail around his paws.
