Erie walked into Shadow's den. Ever since Shadow had become the leader of the Deadplains, Scar had insisted on waiting for battle. Hoping to find ways around battle, yet being as ruthless and battle hungery as Erie was, he could not wait. He wanted blood shed and now. He was determined to get what he wanted. Most of the other Deadplains cats wanted to take what they thought was rightfully theres. They clan territores. The Deadplains needed to battle Riverclan or Thunderclan. He waited in the Shadows and mewed "Shadow, we need to talk."

Shadow's fierce green eyes were the only thing that you could see through the darkness inside the den. She walked out into the open near the opening to the sunlight, but there she still looked like a shadow of a ghost. She sat down and grinned evilly at Erie for a second then growled. "Sure, what is it that you need Erie? I don't think you need anymore food with your size! Now, what is it that you want to talk about. I need time to think over our winning battle-plans and this isn't helping." She splat at Erie.

"Yeah, about that..." he mewed and hated the way Shadow spat out words at him. Before she had become leader, she had asked for him to be her mate. "We need to decide on a new battle plan, we haven't battled anyone for many moons and the rest of us and battle hungry." he mewed.

Shadow smiled, closed her eyes, looked to the ground and started walking back and forth. "Now Erie, we don't need a new battle-plan. I have spent the whole part of last week spying on each clan and they are doing poorly. I'm not going into any details, but I say we should strike RiverClan or ShadowClan first. Which one do you think we should attack first?" She mewed looking back up at Erie. She still did like those eyes of his but. . . what did he think of her? Most toms in the Dead Plains didn't even love their mate and went to another to another. Shadow had never had a mate, and toms know how strong she is because of that.

Erie mewed back at Shadow, "I think we should attack Riverclan." he mewed and smiled caringly at Shadow. Shadow had always sparked something with in him, but what?

"I also thought that was the best one to fight first. From my inside resources their old medicine cat apprentice was killed by a dog, and that they have a apprentice with kits. I don't know what she was thinking but her mate is from ThunderClan. Cross-clan. Let's try to kill at least one of her kits, the rest will be trained by the Dead Plains. I think we should attack at the next medicine cat gathering, then they won't have medicine to help heal them. Now, is that enough information for you Erie or do want something else?" She asked grinning to herself. The plans were good, she would have all of her warriors at her side. Scar would lead a second attack coming from behind the camp, her troop would come from the north. She looked back at Erie, wasn't he going to say something or just stand there?

Erie worked up his courage to ask Shadow what had been bugging him. "Remember when you asked to be my mate?" he asked shyly, yet daring.

Shadow looked back at Erie and tilted her head to a side. If she wasn't wearing fur you would see that she was blushing. "That was a long time ago Erie, I've changed a bit. I don't know if me having or being your mate is a smart idea. I. . ." Shadow couldn't finish the sentence, it was if Erie had closed her throat just standing there looking at her.

"Okay, I was just wondering." he mewed and turned around ready to leave, but looked back at Shadow. "Should I or you tell the Deedplains about your battle plans?"

Shadow only had a few seconds to react to Erie leaving. "Wait! Please don't go!" She said running over to Erie, and jumped into the air pinning him down. She looked into his eyes with sorrow, then got off him and looked down at the ground. "Um. . . sure, go tell them the plans." She mewed.

Erie nooded, "Was there something else you wanted to tell me?"

Shadow sighed then looked back at Erie. "I get really lonley sometimes, more than once I have ran away from the Dead Plains but have came back. It just. . . your my friend and unlike all the others, I think I can trust you. It's weird but I don't know how I feel about you, only that I can call you a friend, but there aren't any friends in the Dead Plains." She said. She looked outside to see a misty, heavy rain fall down from the sky.

Erie smiled. This was a soft side of Shadow that he'd never seen. "I fell the same for you too." he mewed and flicked his tail gently on Shadows shoulder.

"Let's make a deal, we watch each other backs until we both die. If either of us break this, the cat will become a loner and we'll never see each other again. Promise?" She asked.

Erie nooded. "Sure." he teased and walked out of the den and gave the news to the Deadplains. "We will bring war with Riverclan!" he vowled and waited a few moments for the cats to hush down. "We leave at Dusk!"
