((OOC: Inspired by Swallowed in the Sea by Coldplay))
So what was left in his life? Not much. Whatever he had in the past may be burned into his memory, but that was all it was. His brother, his mother, and whatever else had escaped the thin grasp of his thoughts. Arrow only held on to what was truly important to him. But what was important to him? Maybe it's something that changes depending on his situation. Or maybe it's something unshakable even during the worst of times.
In his life he had only been close to two other beings, his brother and his mother who had been so suddenly taken from him, leaving the cat at a loss for words and no where to go in life. No purpose, except to wander aimlessly. But everyone needed a purpose, and perhaps he had had one in his past. It may have just been to survive for his brother, but Arrow didn't want to waste time thinking about what could have happened. Now he had a different purpose. It was one powerful word, a word that corrupted souls and drove those filled with it to insanity. It blocked everything else, reason, love, hope.
Revenge was his purpose, and he fully accepted it. But walking along the seemingly never ending row of Twoleg nests, his small frame and messy fur casting an uneven shadow on the ground, he kept himself from thinking about it at the same time. Maybe he wasn't totally consumed by his desire to repay the clans for taking his brother's life yet. Or he was just delaying the inevitable for when he knew he would have to drop everything and seek revenge, letting the sorrow of his loss overtake him. Arrow thought maybe the pain would start to wear off by now, but that had never happened.
So he wandered, sometimes wishing it was him that would have died instead. Arrow shook his head. That would mean his brother would have to deal with the pain he had now. Was his brother thinking the same thing, wherever he was? Although hearing stories about StarClan, Arrow had never really thought about the idea too much or embraced it, but he had never fully denied it either. If there was one cat he hoped had made it there, it would have been his brother.
And there was one cat he hoped he would never hear of or see again. Arrow remembered him well, but not fondly by any means. That cat who attacked them. His fur bristled and he stared at the ground. Maybe this is just me being heartless... I've isolated myself from every other cat for so long. The strange thing was, Arrow knew that he was twisted up inside, yet he made no move whatsoever to change that. So he stayed on the same path, the path that might just have one thousand houses. The path he did not want to move from.

((OOC: There are very few songs I like better than Swallowed in the Sea. I can listen to it on repeat for hours. Fix You beats it out for the number one spot on my list though. What are your favorites?))[/size]
