Summerpaw was on patrol today. She held the position proudly, walking along with warriors and checking the borders. The apprentice was worried that she was doing something wrong with every step. Her green eyes were filled with worry, and not glazed over with a daydream or narrowed as she said something harsh.

Dustfoot was accompanying Summerpaw today. He smiled at the apprentice, glad that she was taking this seriously. He glanced around at the Thunderclan borders before turning back to Summerpaw. Dustfoot flicked his tail and turned to Summerpaw, "I'm happy that you are taking this responsibility seriously, but you appear to be rather nervous." He said. The tom checked the borders again then turned back and smiled at the apprentice.

Summerpaw shrugged.
"Well I guess everyone's kinda on edge, since those Dead Plains cats are on the loose and could attack anywhere..."
The apprentice was worried sick that those Dead Plains cats would pop up and kill every cat in ThunderClan when she was out hunting.
"Dustfoot, how long did it take you to become a warrior?"

"Hmm. I suppose that is quite a worry." Dustfoot said while he shifted his paws around in the dirt. He turned around to look at the borders again before turning back to the apprentice.
"To answer your question, sometimes it feels like it takes a while to become a warrior. But becoming a warrior really is worth the wait." He said as he smiled at Summerpaw. "When I was an apprentice, I always looked up to the warriors, and-" He took a pause when he heard a rustling noise in the bushes. What could that be.... He thought as he stalked closer. He scented a mouse and pounced, killing it before it had a chance to run away. Thanking Starclan for it's life, he buried it and turned back to the apprentice. "Anyway, I always looked up to the warriors, which made my apprenticeship seem even longer because I was so eager to become a warrior. But just be patient, and before you know it, you will be a warrior." He said while checking the borders again.[/font]

Summerpaw brightened.
"Did you sort of pick your warrior name, Dustfoot? Because I'm afraid my warrior name'll be really dumb, like Summerbreath or Summertooth. What I mean is, did you sort of discuss your name with your leader at the time?"
Summerpaw was having trouble articulating words today. She also was really interested in her warrior name today. She liked Summereyes. Or Summerstripe. Now that was pretty. Also Summerstorm was a good name too. Not Summertail! Never, ever, ever Summertail. That was stupid. Summerfeather? She was pretty fluffy...

"Hmmm.... I don't quite remember, to answer your question." He said, his soft gaze turning back to the Thunderclan borders. "But, I can help you think of a warrior name, if you like. Not now though. We probably shouldn't be distracted while we are on patrol." Dustfoot glanced down at Summerpaw and smiled before turning his head back up and shifting his gaze around, focusing his attention on the borders.

Summerpaw jumped at Snowleaf's voice.
"Oh! H-HI!! I didn't even know you were there!" she stuttered. "I like Summerstorm, or Summereyes."
She turned her bright green gaze to the border.
"True...I think I mighta accidentally aggravated RiverClan. It's extremely unlikely, but it's possible." she meowed quickly.
