It was a cool night, the ground damp from the rain, and although clouds still hung from the sky no more liquid fell. The leader was not alone, standing in front of the breathtaking stone that connected his world to the stars where the spirits of his ancestors lived. Even his pelt, stricken with moonlight, was dull in comparison. He glanced towards Dawnpaw, expecting that when they left the cave that would no longer be her name. His tail curled up, and he still waited.
Finally, the tom took a step closer, his hard gray pad making a scratching sound against the cool stone. Then, another white paw shot out, until RiverClan's leader stood near the stone to where his whiskers grazed the surface. Each breath Lightstar took echoed around the entire cave, a dramatic effect that a less humble leader would have been proud off. Eyes narrowed to the stone, without even glancing at her, he meowed, "Are you ready for this?"
Nose twitching and fur on end, he waited, as a Medicine Cat she should be the one to go first. It was, after all, more important that his own seeking. Standing still, absolutely still, his ears pricked for the sound of her steps. The white tom was unmoving for what seemed to be such a long time that he didn't even notice that he was holding his breath until it came out in a deep sigh. The tom refused to be nervous, he was a leader, for StarClan's sake.

Dawnpaw starred at her leader. Her heart beating. She answered. "I am ready." she said and looked at her leader. She heard a voice in her head telling her to be calm, you are ready. 'Light will fall from the sky and blood will cover the moon.' she repeated in her mind and also she heard Copperclaws voice also. She smiled and looked back at Lightstar.

His nose pressed against the stone, and he immidiately opened his eyes to see a white she-cat, with golden eyes, and a very pleased look on her face. She was clearly and apprentice in age, and looked to resemble him with the same golden gaze he himself stared into the water with. He spoke calmly, with only a mildly surprised expression. "You... are you my-?"
"My name's Foampaw." She cocked her head and added, "I'm your younger sister." It seemed like she expected that to answer everything, and he supposed she was implying that he had a second sister. Which, of course he could have assumed, she would have been a warrior.
Lightstar nodded, and continued what he was about to say. "I've heard bits of StarClan's prophecy, Light will...." She began to purr in amusement, and the leader broke off his words. Again.
"You think because you're named Light? It could be Lightfoot. Maybe even Lightsky in ThunderClan! Not like I know, the older cats never tell me anything." He frowned, if she didn't know much it would mean she didn't have the answer. |

Dawnpaw laied down beside Lightstar and closed hers. She opened her eyes. She was in Fourtrees. A starry figure was walking over to her.
"Do you remember me?" he asked and sat down beside her. It took a few moments to tell who he reminded her of. Longfeather.
"How could I forget, Longfeather?" she smiled and flicked her tail on Longfeathers shoulder.
"You are ready my apprentice to fulfill your part in your clan." he smiled at her with a clouded eyes. "You and Lilypaw do not get along, I can see." he asked.
"Yes, she believes that you picked her and she said that my older leader choose me." she sighed. "I want to be friends with her, but..." she trailed off.
"You too must work together. I wanted both of you to be my apprentices, but the warrior code.." he sighed and flicked his tail across her ear.
"I understand."
"You must be ready blood to flow, your needed." he said and dazed off a moment. "Let me take you back to Lightstar." he said and padded off and disappeared. She followed.

The two were simply chatting for a few heartbeats, and got along surprisingly well for two whom hadn't seen each other in a long time. Finally, the peace had to be broken, the moonligh becoming dimmer. "Foampaw... amd I doing the right thing?" he flattened his ears to his head and glanced to the river of stars beneath him.
"Yes. You've done what you felt you needed to, so that is right."
She began to disappear, before he called out, "Wait! Tell me why I can't remember her!" As he expected, she was already gone. He hunched his shoulders and sighed, feeling defeated. It was no use if StarClan didn't want to answer him, so why bother to continue trying. Selfish if what it was, and yet the leader couldn't let it go.
"She wants to kill you." Flinching, Lightstar recognized his sister's voice and he awoke. His gaze traveled to Dawnpaw, stirring beside him, and the moonstone's bright rays had grown to a faint glimmer. He had learned something, the cat he was searching for wanted him dead, which meant he should best be on his guard if he wanted to find her. His thoughts were interupted as a burst of warm air hit his pelt. It was almost dawn. |

Dawnpaw said her goodbyes to Longfeather. She really missed him. She awoke to find she was on the hard cold stone floor. Lightstar was already awake. She got to her paws and smiled, her meeting with Longfeather helped her a lot. A breeze was carried throw the tunnels. Dawn was coming. She walked over to Lightstar. "Are you alright?" she asked and sat down.

"Yes, I am." He glanced down the tunnel and put his tail on Dawnpaw's shoulder, if only for a heartbeat. The tom turned back to the stone, which was only visible in the faint light above them. "Are you ready?"
The learder turned to Dawnpaw once more, and began to speak in a voice that echoed along the walls of the cavern. "I speak the words before StarClan and Longfeather, that they may see our Medicine Cat Apprentice, and approve of her so that she may become a full Medicine Cat with the power of StarClan in her paws." Golden eyes held her on the spot, before he added the last few words. "Dawnpaw, do you believe you are ready to serve RiverClan as a full Medicine Cat?" The words were new of course, since Lightstar had never witnessed a Medicine Cat ceramony, but he believed his held the same meaning.

Dawnpaw knew she had to answer. She was ready. "I am ready." she said and held her head high and her eyes sparkled with Dawnlight coming in throw the hole in the top of the cave. Her pelt took in all around her and glowed with Dawn.

"From this moment on, you shall be known as Dawnlight, Medicine Cat of RiverClan." Lightstar dipped his head to touch her forehead with his nose. The gesture was simple, and already morning light was flooding into the cave. "Let us go." He paused and flicked his tail, indicating that she could lead the way back. Ironic, that Dawnlight was named in the light of dawn. Once she had exited he padded after her in a perfect tempo. When they were out of the cave, he immidiately stretched out to bask in the warmth for a moment, before standing up again with a purr. His tail twitched as he gazed over WindClan's territory back to the river. It was time to leave High Stones. |

"Thank you, Lightstar." Dawnlight replied and headed out of the cave and walked to the entrance. Dawn was high in the sky. She had to ask him about what Longfeather had told her. "Lightstar can ask you something? Longfeather came to me and said that Lilypaw and me must work together." she asked. She needed to know what to do. She sat down and started licking her paw. She was no longer Dawnpaw anymore. She was Dawn light.

"Well... I would assume that she intends to be ThunderClan's Medicine Cat, which means you two probably will have to learn to get along." He continued padding across WindClan's territory, trying to stay as far out of it as possible. The leader never bothered glancing to see if WindClan cats would attack at any time, simply because it should have been obvious they were returning from High Stones. He noted to talk with Creamtail when they returned to camp. "Anyway, what's your question?" Even while they were in discussion, Lightstar was paying attention to where they were going. Being to careful was better than completely ignoring what they where doing. |

"Lilypaw and me should work to gather on the message." she said. "Does this mean I have to go to Thunderclan?" she said and started walking. Longfeather was a good friend of hers. The sun was going to rise in a few moments.

"No, the time will come, don't forget that there is a long life ahead of you." His paws finally met with the damp earth and grasses of RiverClan terrioty, the home of the two hierarchy warriors. He speeded up, running with a burst of speed in the direction of camp. He enjoyed being home, and the first thing he could think of in his right mind was to get some fresh-kill in his belly. Lightstar was not, however, insensitive enough to run off without his new Medicine Cat. He looked over his shoulder to make sure he hadn't left her behind. For a moment, he couldn't see her, and abruptly stopped and opened his jaws to try and scent the area around him. |
