Silverpelt glittered above, with their ancestors shining down upon them the tom couldn't help but to feel his nerves begin to bother him. If they weren't happy with his choice then... no, of course they'd be happy. There could hardly be a more qualified cat. Each pawstep out of his den was slow but progressive, until he began to fully glow in moonlight at the center of camp.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather in the clearing for a Clan meeting!" The leader let himself appear as usual; detached, calm, even a bit sophisiticated. He surveyed the cats as they huddled around the camp, forming a semi-circle and awaiting his news. He waited for the cat he had chosen to appear within the midst of the clustering warriors.
RiverClan's leader would need support, a cat who would be a good match to his relaxed personal. Maybe not an aggressive cat, but one who would hold their own and speak up to others. A trustworthy and loyal warrior who could one day support the Clan on their own paws. His eyes scanned once more, before locking on her for a breif moment, but then continuing to pass over so the surprise would not be revealed. Yet.

Silentbreeze emerged from the nursery. Looking back to make sure that her kits wouldn't disturb the ceremony. But, it was alright if they just watched silently, of course.
The orange tabby took a set beneath Silverpelt. It was about time Lightstar named a new deputy. She wrapped her tail around her paws, patiently waiting for Lightstar to begin.

"Hi Silentbreeze." Tinyfang mewed softly as she sat next to the Queen.
It was finally time for Lightstar to chose a deputy. Tinyfang sighed as she thought of all the potential deputies.

SunPaw padded up to join the two cats. "Hi Silentbreeze,Tinyfang" she said sitting down next to them. "Do either of you know what this is about?"

Riverflame padded up from behind Sunpaw.
"Lightstar's choosing RiverClan's new deputy," she meowed. "Be quiet."
The she-cat sat and curled her tail around her paws, her eyes gleaming in anticipation. Cerimonies were exciting to go to, whether it was for the youngest kit finally being named an apprentice, or a deputy fulfilling their place beside their leader.

Dawnpaw stepped out from the Medcinie Cats den, when she heard her leader call a meeting. Dawnpaw new what it was about so she walked over to Tinyfang, Sunpaw, Silentbreeze, and Riverflame.
She new who the Deputy was going to be, she could tell by her leaders eyes, staring right a Tinyfang. She had been told a bit ealier, who Lightstar would pick.
She could not get the dream out of her head, Longfeather had come to her in a dream. He had told her that "Light will fall from the stars and blood will fill the moon..." she recalled, not even noticeing the meeting starting to start.
"Hey, may I sit with you?" she asked.

"Sure." Silentbreeze mewed. It seemed that Dawnpaw was all over the place since Longfeather's disappearance. It was a mind bottler for the whole Clan. Sure, he had always been a bit... ... odd, but he never left for more than a day without informing the Clan, or Lightstar about it.

Rainfall was walking up to Dawnpaw and Silentbreeze.
"I wounder who the new deputy is going to be?" She said half knowing who it would be, but didn't want to say.

Dawnpaw nooded at Silentbreeze and Rainfall. She might as well get to know each clan member, before she is Medcine cat. She was everywhere now a days. She was the apprentice Medcine cat and with Longfeather not being here, she was left with all that work. She didn't mind, she loved her part in the clan and it would alwesy be that way.
"How are your kits doing?" she asked Silentbreeze.

Lilykit wandered slowly from the nusrery. Longfeather's dissapearance had hit the kit hard. She had always looked up to him, but without his help, her brother, Greypaw, would die. Lilykit dragged her feet toward the group of cats, staring blankly at the floor.
Lilykit was also slightly bitter towards Longfeather; he had chosen stupid Dawnpaw over her. Lilykit had had so many dreams growing up, it felt as if she were haunted by the ghosts of those cursed to remain in this world.
Her mother had visited her in a dream, but Lilykit had not been told anything, which was strange for the kit. She had always been very good at interpreting dreams with Longfeather's help, but now he wasn't here, she couldn't.
Her pink eyes looked up at the new leader, Lightstar. He would be good for the clan, but she didn't feel as if she belonged here any more. There was nohing left for her as she padded over, looking silently towards Longfe- Dawnpaw's den. She could hear her brother having another coughing fit.
Lilykit closed her eyes, feeling tears well up slowly. She nearly cried out, but she would just be told to be quiet. She blinked back the tears, and lifted her head up high, perfect pink eyes shining in the moonlight.
Her burning fur was ruffled by a slight breeze, and she felt Longfeather looking down upon her. 'I wish I had gotten to be your apprentice Longfeather...' The kit thought sadly, sitting away from the grouop with a sad look on her face, curling her tail around her fur.

As the Clan was settling and chattering, Lightstar flicked his tail, indicating silence. Even the kits had appeared in the clearing, obviously even the nursery wanted to know what would happen to their Clan, the fueling question of the new deputy.
His face held fast, and when the last cat's voice grew silent, he continued with the ancient words. "I say these words before my Warrior ancestors, so that their spirits may hear and approve my choice. Tinyfang will be the new deputy of RiverClan. I know you are inexperienced, but I believe one day you will make a great leader." The tom's eyes surveyed the crowd to see their expressions, and his eyes landed on Tinyfang.
She was the cat who, although very much like him in morals, showed how much she cared for every cat around her. Her status would reassure the Clan was happy, and he felt a compliance to trust her. His eyes wandered over to Dawnpaw as his thoughts cut off, and his mouth opened again. "But, we are not done here tonight." |

Tinyfang's eyes stared back up at her leader in awe. She never once thought of herself as being deputy. Instead of being excited, she was actually a little scared. A deputy played a big rule in the clan and was always helping to make decisions with their leader. Could she handle the position?
"Th-thank you Lightstar. I will do my best to serve the clan." Tinyfang stuttered as she bowed her head to her leader.
She slowly sat back down, waiting to hear what else her leader had to say.

Dawnpaw looked at Lilykit, she was very little to hold a grudge. She walked over to Lilykit and sat by her, looking at her with simathy. Dawnpaw wanted to help Lilykit in every way, but first she had to be nice too her.
"Lilykit, what's up?" she asked in a friendly voice. Lilykit's eye were full of tears.

Silentbreeze let out a purr of delight. Tinyfang was a good choice for deputy, she had a lot of good qualities about her. "Congratulations, you'll be a wonderful deputy." she purred to the she-cat.
The orange tabby's ears were pricked, waiting to see what else her leader had to say. Her kits were not yet six moons old, nor were Moonshadow's, so it could not be that. But... Maybe, just maybe it had something to do with Lilykit.

"I miss Longfeather..." Lilykit sniffled. She had so badly wanted to be medicine cat apprentice, but now, it was too late. She had to let go of being bitter towards Dawnpaw, Dawnpaw would be a wonderful medicine cat, she couldn't feel bitter towards her. "I'm sorry about hissing at you before... You'll make a great medicine cat Dawnpaw, I know you will." Lilykit sniffled, looking up at the she-cat.

Musefaith saw that Brightstar was looking towards Dawnpaw and Lilykit. Musefaith sighed; she was a candidate for medieince cat; her mother was one after all, yet no one actually knew about it.

Rainfall was so excited that Tinyfang was the new deputy. She doesn't really know Tinyfang, but knew enough to know that she would make a great deputy.
"Nice job Tinyfang, you will do great." She mewed to Tinyfang.

Dawnpaw hated to see a little kit so sad. "I miss him too Lilykit, he would of bin something for the clan, if he were still hear." she said to Lilykit. Lilykit also had something on her mind, Dawnpaw new. "I'll try my best, for your brother," she said.
Dawnpaw didn't even care about the dream with Longfeather. She wanted to be there for a Lilykit, who missed him too.
