Silentbreeze noticed the sadness in Emberpaw's eyes. "How's your training coming?" she mewed, trying to change the subject.
((OCC: It's my job, that's why *he he he..*))

"Pretty good. I can hunt much better now!" she replied.

"That's good, especially in leaf-bare. Who's your mentor?" Silentbreeze mewed. Emberpaw's response made her more confident that her kits would survive this leaf-bare. I should move into the nursery soon, she reminded herself. Last leaf-bare, the she-cat had moved into the nursery long before she had her kitting.

((OOC:Okay, different subject then!))
BIC: Silentbreeze regretted her question. She forgot that Emberpaw had not been appointed a mentor yet. "I mean, um....... What's your favorite thing about being an apprentice so far?" she quickly mewed, so not to upset Emberpaw. A breeze ruffled the orange tabby's fur. She hated when her fur was ruffled. So she began to groom to make sure that no fur in her pelt was out of place.

Silentbreeze nodded her head, her favorite time to hunt was in new-leaf, when the river was abundant with fish. The she-cat licked her nose at the thought of all the fish she had caught that new-leaf. "What have you been hunting?" she mewed. Memories continued to flood into her mind, remembering all the fun she had as an apprentice. Even though most all of the memories had something to do with Flamefur, she did not take it as sadness. Instead she found herself joy filled. Her pale yellow eyes, for the first time since the horrible battle for Sunningrocks, were filled with happiness and joy.

"Any water voles?" Silentbreeze mewed. In her first leaf-bare, she had caught a lot of water voles. "You'll love new-leaf, prey is everywhere and.... It's so beautiful, all the plants regrowing and the flowers blooming. It's the best time of the year." she told the young apprentice. New-leaf seemed so far away, with the frozen river and snow on the ground. New-leaf would be like a whole new world.

"Hmmm.... It's kinda like catching a mouse... But you've probably never caught one before. Catching water voles takes stealth instead of timing, or speed." Silentbreeze mewed. She had caught a few mice in her days. Mostly when RiverClan had Sunningrocks at one time. The she-cat was loving every second with Emberpaw, she couldn't wait to talk to her kits like this when they are apprentices.

"Well if you think that's helpful, then you should talk to Smallclaw. He's an expert at catching water voles." Silentbreeze mewed.
Out of the blue, pain came to the she-cat, but only for a moment. At first the she-cat hated it, but now she realized that it was another kick from her kits. These kits will be a handful...the orange cat thought proudly.

"It's nothing, I'm just going to have my kitting soon." Silentbreeze mewed. She wrapped her slender tail around her paws. The she-cat apprenticed Emberpaw asking, though.

"Yeah, I had some kits last leaf-bare, too. But, they didn't make it." Silentbreeze mewed. A painful memory slipping off her tongue. She looked down at her paws to deal with the pain. The snow was melting which made her kits's chance for survival higher.

"Well, think the river is going to be thawing out soon." Silentbreeze happily said. The snow, had slowly started to melt lately. Her hopes were bright for the future now. She hated seeing Emberpaw sad though. She always changed the subject whenever others were bringing down her semi-good mood.
